I packed in getting them, I get Classic Ford every now and then but the only thing I really get these days is Practical Performance Car as they include literally everything, from bonkers to budget.

Being the 30th anniversary of the yb there is going to be a lot of coverage of them. Once that blows over normal focus RS and fiesta St coverage will resume id imagine

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Its been nearly 10 years since I regularly bought either Performance Ford or Fast Ford. I got fed up of seeing the same thing over and over again.

Too many faggoty stanced shite in the mags now. Most of them arent even "performance" or "fast" cars so misleading title!
It could be worse and be like the vw gay scene. Performance vw had some vw up heap of shite on the cover when i walked past in tesco. The up isnt a performance car in the slightest!

i thought this just the other day with the october issue of FastFord
full of pictures of ford fair/fest etc type events.
but nothing of any importance or general interest.
hardly any cars in the for sale section anymore.
Mags are all a bit overrated now as people tend to see everything on their tablets, phones and laptops these days. So spending £5 on a mag to see the same old shit sounds pointless to some.

I think Classic Ford is still the best one , much more interesting and I read it cover to cover.Fast Ford and Performance Ford for me is a 30 minute read now compared to at least one and a half hours with Classic Ford.

I get both Performance Ford and Fast Ford, but am starting to really like Classic Ford magazine, especially after reading about Keenan Smith's Mk2 Turbo Cortina, now that's a nice car

I've cut right back on car mags, cant afford it anymore, not bought performance ford since Ronnie's time attack 3 door was on the cover, classic ford is the best now I reckon, still a good few features on there, like in this months issue there's a buyers guide on welding clamps, features like that I find interesting, and that mk2 Cortina! Wow!

Ever thought that its you lads that are not producing great cars to feature in the mags. Very few fast or ground breaking cars around now if you RS boys dont produce them who else is going to. All to often people moan about the mags & yet expect others to spend the cash to produce the great cars they want to see.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Im guessing its full of cars on finance with bolt on extras paid for on credit card?
It certainly makes getting round Ford Fair easier as i can avoid that whole section.

I hardly ever buy any magazines anymore, cycling magazines when there are freebies and the only car mags I buy are when there is a particular car/feature that intrigues me.
The mini magazines, practical performance cars and land rover magazines are the ones that get my attention nowadays, interesting features on things that interest me. How to's, tool guides etc

this car has lime green quilted interior
now what is the difference here
None of this is fast or performing its just a look that is not even copied to well . So this is how the youngsters do it . So people that build fast great cars are few and far between

Plus it's hard to be groundbreaking these days as most things have already been done.

You have a point but the scene is changing for the worst to be honest we have mags called fast ford and performance ford for a very simple reason we as a scene build performance and fast cars but these days well its all about the vw stance and there is no performance or fast in this

Your on facebook ask him since your interested to know. Tom macrae is his name. People have different tastes. Some like std looks with power, some like the opposite. But i was replying to your its not fast or performance and as its over 500bhp its not slow. He's ran it at the pod im sure so its not just a show queen

I wonder if the scene has changed due to young drivers insurance ? I don't know the facts so won't claim to but is it cheaper to insurance a modified car if it's just styled opposed to tuned ?
I've a couple of young members of staff working for me, and both are paying multiple thousands for very little cars.

Haven't bought any Ford car magazine in best part of ten years, and haven't been to one show in that time either. How many mk1 Focus RS are there to look at, or any other Ford that we haven't seen 1000 times before.
I subscribe to both Evo and Octane but TBH I'm thinking about binning Evo off as that's getting boring now as well. All they seem to be focusing on are super cars or motors well into six figures that most people will never have a chance of owning. Octane is full of those as well I know but it's a FAR better read and WAY more interesting.

Whats happened to performance ford!
I like practical performance car and classic ford as seems to be people building there own cars in there sheds etc which is what it's all about not paying someone else to do it. As soon as I start reading a feature in a mag and it becomes blatantly obvious he's paid someone else to do it I just stop reading and skip to the next feature

I stopped getting all the ford mags years ago . Same old cars , same old mods etc etc . The ford scene collapsed years ago as I found out when I went to ford fair last year . Totally crap !

it doesn't matter what make it is its the same thing over and over in all scenes, you don't often see anything that's groundbraking but I would imagine theres much more choice these days for your average joe compared to 20 or 30 years ago but the amount of older cars will diminish with time.
same thing will happen to todays models in 20-30 years time.

I got the PF 3 for £5 for the first time in years and the magazine is really poor with very little in it, so wont be buying again - classic ford seem to do a much better job at covering teh scene.
Perhaps a reason for this is the costs of RS models now, look on ebay or sales sites there seems to be 100's of standard cossies, turbos etc where the market gives the most money anything modified has lower values. There seems to be a movement where owners are de-modifying their cars to increase values, based on that its hard to see what magazines will write about - couple that with internet forums like this and we dont need a magazine to read about peoples big build as there is more on the threads than a mag can include. Magazines need to focus on things outwith that, good quality features and pics from events, looking at new products and innovation, not filling it with articles about history which given the lifespan of these mags has been covered to death.
