Default Intercooler/rad package any good?

Keep seeing this on eBay as I look for the parts I need to finish the sapph, seems cheap but when other makes could cost double maybe more I wondered if anyone had fitted one?

dont skimp at the end of your build mate. Get a proper cooler for it - i would for the AS top feed intercooler as that is one of the best as they copied the Spec R one.

Or at the very least go for the 60mm airtec cooler as that is almost as good as the top feed cooler according to the shootout they had

i would be looking at the top feed airtec cooler as that is proven to work better than the old traditional design

It says they are out of stock now but its the same old story of " if it seems to good to be true it normally is". As others have said spend a bit more for a proven top quality product for peace of mind.

yes mate - that is on my shopping list as i only have a cheapy pace one sitting here as it was stupidly cheap to turn down at the time and will prob end up using it in my 24v turbo build instead and get a top feed cooler for the cossie engine

Yeah I agree, just wondered what the differences would be against a proven one as the spec sounds ok

Problem I have is getting the car set up after fitting something like this,it's been set up on a 500 style cooler before I bought it but it's since been removed and replaced with a standard shitty one and it's overfuelling now.

Be a long trek south to get set up

Either way you look at it - your car needs a new cooler and will need to be checked and setup after fitting anyway so you may aswell go for the better cooler or no point modifying your car for more power

A lot of people say their cooler is fine or that x works but unless someone monitors the intake temps then you don't really know and even if you do monitor then you need to check for power losses. When I spoke with spec r recently he said that in the past, many yrs ago, there were a few 500 bhp Cossies but they very quickly lost power when used as the intake temps were too high...the only real solution is to get it right first time around.
My car is being held back by the pace 500 style cooler and this was noticed when mapped, I need to solve this with a spec r or similar and have it bespoke made to my 205 engine bay and then re-mapped to suit.
