Default Fuel additive to clean carb?!

Anyone got any experience with fuel additives?

I've got a 4 stroke lawn mower, an old Mountfield with a 3.5hp Briggs & Stratton engine.

It starts perfect first time, runs up well. But has developed a strange/odd misfire which is mild, and occurs about every 10s whilst running.

I suspect the carb is ever so slightly blocked, but been told they're a nightmare to remove on these. So I'm willing to try a fuel additive that could clean it out a bit? I've seen the fuel stabilisers than claim to help

Any ideas or experiences are appreciated
