Ive been looking to buy a gearbox for my escort cossy and have been offered a mt75 motorsport getrag with a dog leg 1st in good condition.- anyone tell me what its worth and how strong are they ? Thanks.

The motorsports getrag was not a direct fit and not a replacement for the mt75, it was a 2wd not 4wd box

Hi Mark thanks for your reply - but I assure you that this box is 4x4 mt75 Getrag with large gears and steel synchros with transfer box take off for rear prop I have photos and copies of ford homologation papers /ratios etc. Being new to this group I can't see how to post up the photos. So what have I got here?

I am very interested in seeing this, pics can posted using an account like photo bucket and then pasting the image code/tag into the post.

I have never seen getrag make a 4wd inline box, especially not for ford motorsport.

You can just click the yellow box with the mountain in it and upload directly. It is next tor the speech bubble box above, 2nd to last from end.

As I said the guy tells me its a large geared steel ringed getrag mt75 - or is he trying to pull the wool etc.

Image is too small on the ratio chart, but that is a std mt75 case, what is in it is a diff matter.

Remove the reverse switch plate and take a really good pic of the gears you can see.

See if you can up the ratio chart.

Where is first gear on the gate?

1st gear is on a dog leg left and back like the old group 4 escort zf box

Ok, its a group n sport box.

Close ratio built into std but close ratio, some say the best gears you can have in a std case.

ATM still do them new now.

cant get it to upload clear enough so papers with the gearbox states:
1st 14/34 2.649
2nd 16/28 1.909
3rd 18/25 1.515
4th 24/27 1.227
5th 1/1 1.000 transfer 26/32 1.231.

Yep, defo a sport box and has been set for a 4.44:1 rear diff
