I'm thinking the same m8, it was nice to meet you again and cheers for te top mounts and wheel, for me its the cars, the organisers need to do pre 70/80 discounts for car owners as its becoming more and more like a sheep gathering, don't get me wrong I had a great day but it seams like there's not as much enthusiasm no more

I don't understand how it can be so bad when its generally the same things at shows every year with gradual phasing out of older stuff for new.
what do you expect to see?

you bunch of moodies ligthen up. We all had a reason to get our cars out. what more do you need.
weather was great. turn out was good from what i see on the track. cars that were near me that i see were all lovely for many reasons. my kids had an awesome time.

only thing that pissessss the life out of me is the entrance setup every year is terrible. The only thing to fix for sure. That many gates and entrances and try to bottle neck that many people messes it up all the way down motorway.

but enough of that be happy. car didnt blow a tyre

The older fords are getting less and less cause there starting to be worth something and people dont wanna use them. They might also be scared to break down.

I bloody loved it! Yes were lots of newer cars this year but didn't expect much else. Still love walking round seeing all types of carss. The drive up and back is the best for me though, will never get bored of that bit!

The track action makes it cool for me!

As above the entrance has been shite for years! best to get there just before 7am IMO

I think Jano was showing Paul how to drive

Track action was the highlight of the day

Also they need to give all the staff a map or least let them know what's going on the amount of people asking for directions and they didn't have a clue

I haven't been since 2009 and had a great time. I agree it is full of newer cars, looooads of ST'a which don't interest me personally, but they obviously have a following and need to be represented. I just skipped around what I didn't like and looked at the cars which caught my eye. Of which there were a lot of.
As I'm getting older im appreciating the older ones more. Ive always loved MK1/2 Escorts, Fiestas etc but I was loving the 100e's etc this year. Also looked more and more at Racing Pumas lately.
Some great cars in the Paddock and on Fast Ford stand.
Some of the people let it down for me. Some of the comments I heard about my own car made me chuckle. I over heard one bloke say that I'd probably hammered the floor and filled it with filler to get the side exit exhaust to fit and other say I probably only cut out the floor and receased the fuel tank because the car was rotten anyway. Yet another bloke told me it was his car of the show so can't please them all
Over all though, it's given me a kick up the arse to finish mine as it been off the road so long I've got used to it not using it. Now, I really can't wait to have it finished and drive it.

I agree with Jano!

I was helping out on the Classic Ford stand and we had around 75 of the best classic Fords in the UK there. Our stand was heaving all day. Plus there was plenty more classic stuff around us.

Weather and crowds were good, the auto jumble and trade seemed MUCH busier than previous years, track action was going all day, the drifting was entertaining; not sure what anyone was expecting otherwise? Yes, a lot of the crowd/cars were the same, but that's the car/Ford/show scene. It has never/will never evolve heavily from year to year?

Mixed opinions again about this show. A new generation will think row upon row of Foci in silly colours with carbon stuck on is normal the show will not die just change. Old stagers like myself stopped attending 5 years ago & now it seems even a blinkered Ford addict like Dojj is calling time .
If its not for you don't moan just don't attend. Others will enjoy it .

Maybe a name change to 'Focus Fest' would stop proper old school petrolheads from wasting a day.

Tbh being 30yr anniversary I was expecting more along the lines of anniversary cars, it would of bin nice for the organisers to find a car from each ford fair through the yrs and put them in a stand to see the real evolution

It's not a waste of a day if you know what to expect. I don't like modern stuff either, but I can't think of any other show where you can see genuine ex-RS500 Touring cars battling on track together with 600+bhp Escort Cosworths or a YB powered Mk4 Escort?

Or what other show can you see 40 Mk2 Escorts on display, or get up close with several of the most iconic classic Fords to be built in the last few years, aside from Classic Ford?

Take what you want from the day and it's fine.

I think people have taken this thread out of context a bit, so let me explain my point of view

I had a good time as a casual observer, the auto jumble was much better than in previous years, the track action was great, there was a wife and varied amount of cars of display, some to my taste and others not so, my son enjoyed it immensely as did my mate. We walked practically the whole site, no one got in the way and if you did bump into someone by accident a simple "sorry mate, didn't see you there" from both was enough, even the ladies with the pushchairs didn't clutter up the place

However

Giving up a whole weekend to attend, the language that was on constant use, the smell of ganja in the air, it's not the sort of thing I want to expose my son to

If every second word out of someones mouth wasn't "fucking this that and the other" or "cuntycunty bollocks wanker" and if the people in their fiestas knew the highway code it would help

I've been going twenty years now so I've seen it change over time, the bad bits now outweigh the good fit me personally which has forced my hand

Sorry, but that's the way it is for me

It wasn't just the Fiestas, a nice young chap in a focus st, nearly crashed into my mate who I was following not once but twice, i politely told the lad to watch out for people's cars, i think the message was taken in as he stayed well away then, other than that, the people were courteous and polite, lots of smiles and thumbs up from people in the traffic on the way to getting in.

First time I havent camped and was queing to get in which didnt really bother us , however sooo many near misses as said ! a lot in MK2 Focus STs doing the old "popping trick" whilst flying down the outside and not really paying much attention to whats happening !!

Enjoyed the show again only the 3rd time ive been so a newbie compared to all you vets ! haha ,

I love both old and newskool stuff , had plenty to look at & the track was great all day as was the weather !

If i could have a little moan , i was a bit pissed off the paddock bar wasnt open as I was clamming for a couple of pints

i thought it was a good weekend weather was great some nice cars out there i mean if you want classic then classic ford at santa pod is a good one no focus st clubs in site. Which is good cause if im honest i prefer the old stuff. only thing that lets it down is the attitude of most of the chavs smoking weed every where which aint great but the cars out weigh that for me

Last year was my last one, too much new stuff for me and the track was pretty much full of new fiestas and focus i thought.

That smell of ganja seems to be at every car show lately too

The queue down the dual carriageway was horrendous. Too many people who think they are far more important flying down the outside lane and cutting in at the last minute.it just meant we were sat for ages not moving. Can it not be sorted for next year? Maybe get it barriered off? It was more frustrating more than anything.

Any show is what you make it and for me its the only time I get to see all of you horrible lot in mass numbers from all over the UK and europe and I really look forward to it, had a great day mingling with the pf masses and never heard a single complaint from anyone, if you dont like something at a show you carry on walking past it until something else floats your boat, as we were next to the track on the wellington straight I enjoyed the track action too, see you all in 2016
