Default Custom Shafts...

Hi all.

Can anyone recommend me a place to have a pair of shafts made? And prices if you've used them before?

For 2 years I run sleeved welded shafts and they've been fine at 300bhp/300ft/lbs and toyo 888's but I snapped one yesterday when engine came on boost and i skipped over a pothole. Obviously the the engine speeding up and then the sudden shock of the wheel getting grip was just too much.

Anyway, I always said if they break I'll get custom one piece ones made.

Thanks in advance,
Matt.

Prop shaft services in Feltham did mine for 500 ftlb of torque.

Coley was telling me that the Skyline boys weld a ring around the prop shafts so if the flanges break the ring contains the flailing prop....sounds a good idea.

I was always a little weary of shafts like that, so I made sure I had an inch of shaft inside the sleeve. So, if it snapped the shaft just spins inside the sleeve. All safe, just lost drive.

Anyone know if recoprop are still going? I'm phoning a few places for prices and eta.

Prop shaft services didn't want to cut n shut my cossie ones, they would only make from scratch. They did mine in 2 days and the front one was only £70

I don't think 200 is over the top.... but people keep popping up saying they've had them done for 70 or 100 each.
