Exclamation CNC machining

Im wanting some hubcentric spacers machined from 16mm to 8mm. I already own the spacers, Ive been quoted £45 plus VAT to get set of 4 spacers machined to that thickness.
I thought it wasn't going to cost that much to get them done, Is the quote roughy spot on?

Sound cheap to me, it's not my line of work but it going to take them a while to set up, it's not even an hours wage

Why do most people think things like this should cost £10 or something stupid like that.
There are setting up cost involved people's time wear on the tooling.
It's the same as getting cars painted people think it should only cost a couple of hundred pounds for a respray.

I expect a lot of employed people compare to their take home pay as opposed to the turnover and costs of running a business?

Thanks for your pointless reply. Theres always one idiot that has to put a reply like that up. You could clearly see I asked if that price was good, To someone thats a days wages. So if the quote was for a days wages he has the right to ask if its a good quote. Paint and CNC are 2 different thing Paint and materials cost alot. All im really asking for is someones time to machine 4 small items.

I take on board paint is a different subject but you have to think of the initial outlay for the machine, these things cost thousands and thousands of pounds just to buy.
You clearly thought that was expensive as you have stated in your op that you didn't think it would cost as much to have them machined.
as said above its too cheap you should jump on that price.

Yes thats why I asked. I don't know anything about CNC I had thought wack some metal in. Press some buttons to suit size to be cut then press a button. walk in and out in 30 mins. I didn't know it'll need setting up. Thats why I wondered if a days wages was fair.

Im surprised £45 isnt even a hours wage. must be an £80,000+ yearly wage.

Fair enough mate I was probably a bit blunt with my response earlier.
I apologise mate.
I think he meant it's an hours labour rate at what a company would charge.
My work charges £80 per hour but I only see about 20% of that and the rest goes to the running of the business.
