Default Fiesta cutting out?

Hi guys.
I've just brought a 2004 fiesta 1.4. I knew about the problem when I brought it but got it for a price I couldn't say no too.
Any way the problem is that the car cuts out once you put your foot on the clutch. Doesn't do it all the time. More seems to be when your slowing down for a junction ect and holding the clutch down. Once it cuts out the power steering goes and the lights on the dash come on and the revs drops to 0. Once you realise the clutch the revs go up and the cars fine.
What do you guys reckon?
Thanks jack!

there is a switch on the clutch pedal that is supposed to increase the revs slightly and this usually gets dislodged, I would advise you to check this mate
