Default Abyone using a HOLLEY blue top as a lift pump to the swirl pot ?

As title. I have one that I'm using for my lift pump problem is I'm trying to get the AN-10 fittings to fit the pump. On the websites it says the thread is 3/8" NPT. So I have bought a straight 3/8" NPT -AN-10 from torques uk. Problem is ot only goes in about 5/6 threads which isn't far enough for the copper washer to be crushed (make the seal). Anyone else had this problem ?

An NPT fitting won't screw all the way in. It's a tapered thread. The threads are the seal.

I've used PTFE on mine. Just lubricates the threads slightly and makes them a bit easier to screw in.

I used said pump as they are much quieter than the facet ones.
