I'd love to work in a garage like that. Shame I live in Dorset lol :-( we got a guy down this way runs a garage called "class of the 60s". It's a little back rd place but man is he busy! He also does old fords up to sell, breaks them for parts and repairs old fords. Don't think he does restoration though as takes so long and he's a one man band. Very successful though I hear!

We have 2 old boys our way that do the same, they will do basic work and servicing on newer cars to tick over but their main work is old stuff.

Anglia van, Escorts, Marina, Triumph Stag have all been through their doors

That's a good shout that, I used to have my own business and I specialised in classics but 80% of the work was servicing and general repairs on modern cars for the first year to keep the money rolling in. If u do that from the start then at least once the classic side gets so busy u can give up the modern cars. One thing I did learn was u need a decent customer base to start with like private jobs out of your main job that when u get so many private jobs u can't do your day job anymore that's the time to go on your own. I made the mistake of having only a few customers and ended up having to close the garage :-(
