Default sapphire head lining

Hi, has anyone in the midlands had their head lining redone by a professional ?
Mine has started to annoy me and I don't want to mess it up myself.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

how good is the glue with the heat in the AS kits as it may be a job for when the car is garaged for winter ?
Is there enough material to do the c pillars ?

I did mine over 2 years ago now and its still good. As long as you get all the old glue off it wont be a problem.

If you get a roll from that company there is plenty on it. I even did the C trims.

There is enough to do another headlining.

Iirc the best way to get it out is through the boot.
Remove the handles, pillar trims, visors and sunroof handle and it pretty much falls out. Easy job start to finish.

Cool, I'm gonna do mine one day. I've saved that link Glenn so can order material.

I've read that if you wind front seat down and put back seats down you can get it out through the boot but the side door looks like it works too.

Any reason why I can't just stick the material that is there back down? Is it because it will have stretched? Mine isn't stained or damaged just a saggy baggy mess!

Right, I got the head lining done today but was struggling to get the c pillars out the car as couldn't undo the seat belt mounts under the rear seat. I assume this is what I need to do? The bolts are just rock solid so I gave up for the afternoon (had a buddy to meet at the pub) but I'll try again later in the week.

Yeh this is what i did matey. I was lucky that my seat belt bolts come out.

I noticed the other day that the rear corners of my head lining have sagged a bit. Looks like the spray glue is coming out.

Got there in the end

Headlining came out without too much fuss and the saggy material came off, cleaned up the backing and recovered with the material suggested above stuck down the the spray glue included.

Eventually got the C pillar bits out, the seatbelt bolts took me about an hour and a half to undo... Did same process stripping cleaning and recovering like so

Few finger indentations from pressing in in place, maybe the will fall out over time? A mate has suggested using a steam iron over brown paper but I'm not sure how brave I'm feeling...

Agreed they look much better, hadn't realised how grubby looking the original cloth was... Few fiddily bits but I could do it in half the time now!

Cheers, was my first time - I've been advised to leave it a few weeks to see if it settles and if not to try to steam it and remove the indentations

Did mine yesterday, c pillars are perfect but have one or 2 creases in the headliner, going to throw an iron at it before I refit but happy overall, a little more satisfying doing it yourself.

Really like it in black!

Has anyone had a go at doing the door cards with some vinyl?

I paid a fair bit of money to buy a mint set of door cards about 5 years ago and there going bad now! I'm toying with the idea of buying them pre mad leather covers from eBay and getting the trimmer who did my head lining to fit them.

I retrimmed one door card. The vinyl was a bit different. It was a right chew on. I paid good money for a set of door cards that have speaker pods in them. They looked well when i bought them but now they look tatty.

The hardest part is getting the vinyl to stretch round the door arm rest.

Ive thought about doing another but try and do it in pieces.
