Smile turbo repair

Firstly i dont think ive sed hello even though ive been on here a few years....so HELLOOO EVERYONE.. pleased to meet you all some amazing projects and insights

Secondly i wanna ask you all...if you send your turbo off for an overhaul...and you pay £295 incl vat u shud surely get the turbo back with NO PLAY IN SHAFT....

i felt that because i asked for just an overhaul, and not a complete treatment with overhaul and shotblasting etc (this is what the companyoffered ...been in business 25 years plus) they just clened it up and sent it back...

Now the time has passed for me to do anything but i wanted people opinion...when u get ur turbos back is there supposed to be play in the shaft?

Thanks people...

Ususalt a little bit of up and down due to the type of bearing fitted,
But there shouldnt be any in/out play if its just been rebuilt

Default journal bearing

there will always be play in a journal bearing turbo-there has to be for clearance and the oil to create a film inbetween the surfaces
you should use a syringe to put oil in it and spin it a little-add some more..
most if not all of the play should vanish,it should have negligable play in and out -keep turbo upright[in normal operating position] while doing this
