New ST3
Just bought a fiesta st3. Had Rs turbo and civic turbo previously. Just wondering as with those turbo cars you obviously let them warm up and cool down after driving. With it being a modern day turbo do the same rules apply? I am going to do it anyway for peace of mind however was told it's not totally necessary. Opinions please

On my mk3 focus st, I let it warm up for 60 seconds, then drive off boost until the oil temp gauge reaches atleast 75 degrees, keeping the revs below 3k rpm.
On switching off normally drive the last mile off boost, then switch of after 2 minutes.

not so fragile anymore, ecu should restrict some power till up to temp anyhow.
i'm not saying jump in and floor it from cold, but normal driving should have it boost happy ready in five mins.
as with shutting off, probably best to not rag the life out of it and switch off straight away, but normal mixed enthusiastic driving will be fine to stop, sort your gear out, grab phone ect. then switch off.
most turbos are water cooled and continue to work after switch off.
the modern day car is very well designed for the local muppet to jump in and drive without falling apart daily.

If you take it easy for the last part of your journey there's no point in sitting in the car letting the engine idle for 2 mins like a numpty lol

Thanks for the advice I'm going to do it the old fashion way. I'm really enjoying it and thinking about getting the mountune map done but in now hurry for that. I love how the car feels.
