Default Bored of the escos already :(

Thinking of selling the escos already after selling my saff last year I've had a series one, focus rs and now a escort cosworth but I'm just never happy. The series one was nice but slow, focus rs was an awesome car but couldn't help myself when driving it and now have 9 points on my license lol so i sold that and bought the escort and now I'm bored of that. Think it's mainly due to the looks as its got wrc bumper and spoiler and I think it looks ugly as hell. Also after I sold the saff I said no more cossies and it's always big money when things go wrong but I'd always wanted an escos. Now I've scratched that itch I think haha

I was thinking of buying another rst but maybe a fiesta or a efi converted escort. Maybe around 250bhp this time as the series one was standard. Anyone else have any suggestions as what to buy next?

My gut reaction to this is, why not buy another Saff?.... Get the feeling its "your" car, and you'll be happier with another one.

Im the same with MK4 Escorts, when I dont have one, Im constantly looking at them.

Just realised I posted in cosworth forum and not general discussion doh!

I did think of contacting the lad who bought my saff and see if he'll sell it back to me. That was my baby as I built it up from a bare shell to be my perfect saff. I checked the other day and it has no mot but is taxed.

Know where you are coming from. Back in 1999 I sold my first Series 2 to buy a MR2 Turbo. Its the only car Ive ever missed, and I regret it. It went through several owners after me before it was smashed up.

Always hankered after another, and now building a naughty Series 2.

I think when you know, you know. You could prob get a belting saff, and cash your way for the Escos.

Took the words right out of my mouth! Plus, big boot and four doors, got to be the most practical cosworth too!

Would be blinding if you could get your old one back!? See what the guy says, you can only ask!!

When I sold my saff my head wasn't in a good place at the time I was glad to get rid of it as I'd just had enough of it. I took a lad out in it and when we came back the diff was whining like a pig and I couldn't hardly get it in gear! So I put it up for sale and sold it 2 days later. After a couple of months a started to regret selling it but had the frs then. Now I don't need a daily drive any more I miss it but can't find anything what fills the saff shaped hole in my life I wonder if the lad who bought it wants an escos lol

Without a doubt the frs is the best car I've ever owned. Only problem I had with it was it didn't feel like you were going that quick when you actually was lol in the saff 60mph felt like 80-90 compared to the focus it was like 80-90 felt like 60 lol

Yes it's proper one jay and cosworth on the v5. It's had a fair bit of work done and has had the floors patched. It has the floor numbers but I'm not convinced they're the factory stamped ones. The previous owner told me it had been reshelled in the late 90's but I have no paperwork at all for the car so can't confirm this. End of the day it's what you would expect for a sub 10k escos, it's a good useable car and and runs mint. It just looks shit with the wrc kit fitted lol

When i bought it I couldn't see the numbers but when my cousin patched a bit on the floor I found them. They aren't very bold and have quite a bit of paint over them but they do match the vin tag

See if you can source an Escos bumper and rear spoiler? Even if you just change the front back to standard, think it's the front of a WRC kit that's the less pretty...

Buy a 3 door, seems its the only one missing. The break whilst saving the extra may renew your interest in them.

My mates car been sat there ever since the engine died while was I driving it on a track day he had the engine rebuilt a coue of years later, then another couple of years later fitted the engine and it's just sat there ever since. He nearly got it ready for the road again but while bleeding the brakes all 4 of the nipples snapped of and he just gave up on it again

When I went round his the other week he said he wanted my escort haha

The 3dr has been patched up a bit. It was a road/rally car before my mate bought it. He paid 4k for it around 2002-3 and was actually not going to buy it until the owner said "do you want to look and the spare shell that comes with it" my mate didn't realise the owner had a brand new 3dr shell that was inc in the sale so once he see that he snapped it up! If the new shell is inc I'd happily swap him

I'd swap for the 3 door, but its your call, you could make a fair few quid breaking it, and with the money probably get a nice saph and have some change.

I'd say either straight swap for the 3dr or big power fiesta RS, or even a gartrac

Love it! With just a few little things changed i think it could look alot better. Don't think the wheels are doing it any favours at all. I.ve always wanted a red wrc kitted escos though so my opinion may be a little biased! lol

If your sure you want rid, (and sounds like you are!?) I hope you get rid quick, that Harvey Gibbs powered Saff looks a cracking option!?

You sound as if Ford cars are not your thing, don't let them rule your life or emotions. Sit down take a deep breath & then remove those Ford blinkers.
Lots of better cars out there that wont cause emotional distress. Your chasing a dream that's not there in reality you will never be happy with your choice because reality will never live up to your expectations. They are 25+ year old outdated rubbish compared to other cars so will never fulfil your dreams. A Cossie these days should be a 3rd or in my case a 4th car, then it don't matter if its a unreliable , expensive pile of poo.

Poor relation is a bit far lol I'd take a rwd saff over all of them if value is not counted! 3dr don't have leather and others are 4x4 but it's each to there own I guess as we are all different

To be fair rod if it's what your into its what your into nothing can change that. I could sell my pile of bits and buy an evo m5 or r33 next week but I never would. Plus if your sad little dream is to have fast road car the old yb can more than tick that box still with the right mods

It's a toss up between sell it and buy another saff or take it off the road and do the bits I originally wanted too. Put it back to looking standard, different wheels and more power as it seems slow as hell compared to my saff

I'm just impatient! I been trying to find the body parts but had no luck so far and just getting bored cod I can't do anything to it at the minute. Kelly said to me "if it had the proper bit on you wouldn't sell it" and she's probably right lol
