hundreds of thousands of people die every day in poor parts of the world.

Where's your heart for them?

I do hate the current "first world problem" criticising that seems to be popular of late.

There's always someone worse off than you. That doesnt minimise the impact of a particular problem on you just because someone is suffering somewhere.

I couldnt give a fuck about the thousands of starving african children who will die tomorrow - i cant do anything about it and it doesnt effect me so why waste my time and energy worrying about it?

I will "worry" about things relevant to my life. I dont care if that makes me selfish. Most people are the same even if they dont want to admit it. giving a few quid to charity or doing the odd charity run hardly gives people a "moral highground" IMO.

Sure, topgear isnt a big deal in the big scheme of things, but to many its a bit of silly light hearted entertainment thats now likely to die. hence, like arseholes, everyone has an opinion and has a right to voice it, even if 10 billion people have died in some crash or disaster.....

A bit off topic but them adverts on the tv make me laugh about the people all over the world who live in poverty.

Here goes.

Poor tracy has to walk 40 miles to get to the river for clean water. Why doesnt her family move and live closer to the river.

i agree with you to some extent Warren, but losing a tv programme that you enjoy should hardly be termed a problem. clarkson not having his contract renewed has been described as 'tragic' which you must agree is overstating it somewhat in light of all of those parents having their children taken from then in an accident?

I agree Steve. No doubt some program makers will get in touch with him and start to make a new car show.

They know it will take off and make them money cause they know how many people like clarkson.

Love all the moral high ground stuff on here

Plenty of footballers and rugby players punch people at work, in public in front of children and families......do they get fired?

I take it none of you moral angels watch football or rugby then given your strong opinions about it

Mustn't be viewed in the same light when a load of women trip each other up, cry, slap and bite on TV.

Have to wait and see what the other two do, will they tell the BBC to stick it too?
I can just see the replacement Top Gear being really dull, just like it was in the 70's and 80's. I'm sure William Woolard and Angela Rippon would love to come back....

Because apparently global warming will cause massive floods and they'll drown beside the river

I'm sure, it won't take much for Hammond to piss off and go back to that science, (or whatever it was, I didn't watch) so he'll be ok. Just leaves May to join up with someone dull and bingo, the most boring motoring show on telly...

It wasn't that long ago that old Willy Wooly did it, he was in that clip where Tiff tested Laurence Bristow's Labbats car round Brands.

It's got a lot less 'Stuffy' since JC did it...

because someone else maybe gets away with it isn't an excuse.
if you went into your works canteen and smacked a staff members face bursting their lip while screaming abuse at them (apparently) because there was no pies left, only prepacked sandwiches, would you consider that acceptable? would you be surprised if your boss sacked you even though you explained you thought it was fine because football players do it ?

At the end of the day opinions are like arseholes everyone's got one, but the fact remains top gear is by far and away the most popular car show on TV, fact, and it will be missed by loads in its original format.
