Default Ford Escort Mexico with TVR V8 - stolen 3/3/15 9.20pm

Not seen a thread on here? ( but if ive missed it feel free to delete ) its posted all over facebook and im guessing many forums.

Post copied from pistonheads

Hi, my beautiful Escort was stolen from Trackspeed, on the Portsmouth Road, Ripley GU23 6HB - at 9.20pm on Tuesday 3rd March 2015.

The garage was ram raid by an old Land Rover, and the Escort dragged out of the showroom on a chain, last see on CCTV being dragged towards Ripley and the A3.

Police arrived within 5 minutes - no sign of it!

Many of you will know my car from some of the Ford shows a few years ago and visits to Boxhill.

The car is totally unique, it is exactly as pictured below - Reg: DAD 422K and number 27 is still on the door and bonnet. TVR 5 liter V8 race engine under the bonnet, full race spec.

Any information please get in touch, forget the insurance money, this car is irreplaceable and just i want it back!

Please please any help or information greatly appreciated.

I will post more detailed pictures in the morning.

many thanks for any help or leads recovering by baby.

it was hidden in minutes of being stolen as they had the chopper up already and it was on scene pretty quick from the news reports i read.

Long gone i think sadly. Probably stripped and shell sold on with ebay ID or dissapearing into a foriegn collection somewhere.

So, snatched and straight in the back of wagon/covered trailer etc? Would be good if they could get any evidence of other vehicles used from local CCTV...
Hope it gets found soon, but does sound like I proper job!?

Just seen the CCTV footage from inside the showroom, they obviously knew what they were doing, took a while to get it hooked up though. Wankers couldn't even get it out without hitting the Porsche on the way out... :-(

you can pretty much ask what you want for a immaculate mk1 escort.

Anything mk1 escort with a high spec or some decent history or provenance goes for big money these days.

Personally I would of nicked the porsche 911 2.7rs. Even if it was a rep it still would be worth a lot more then the escort, weather it's a whole car or broken up for parts.

Why do people do this?

I understand why the twats that dragged it out the showroom do it, but why do the enthusiasts feel the need to be a part of it?

At some point along the line there's an enthusiast who's creating this problem by either requesting the job or buying parts they don't know the provenance of! The people stealing this stuff aren't selling it to Joe Bloggs down the road, they're selling it to enthusiasts or maybe even companies who are selling to enthusiasts.

You should be ashamed of yourselves really and I just hope that one day someone takes your 'pride and joy' that you've knowingly stolen parts for and burns it out so you can feel that same way. And any companies who are getting involved, I hope someone breaks into your house, steals your fake watches and the Mrs' fake cubic zirconia bling and takes a shit on your pillow

unlocked-do you seriously think if the escort was locked it would have been a deterrant?-they had just driven through the showroom,i dont think breaking the drivers door window would have delayed them any longer than they already were
120k-never the best twin cams dont get that money
might be its insured money and worth that to its owner but never 120k worth

Mate, locked or not it makes no difference, if someone's willing to ram through to take it it's going, at least if unlocked they didn't cause a load of damage to get in to it so if found its less to repair.
Shame about the series 1 landy they used, also someone's pride and joy no doubt.
What I don't understand is if you can see expensive cars through windows/doors etc why would you not put anti ram posts infront or behind the door of your premises to deter or prevent this from happening, insurance company's to premises that store vehicles like this should make it mandatory.
I would bet that car is parked up in a building not too many miles away.

Get your point about it being unlocked but of course to the scum who have stolen it, its nothing to smash a widow as time is their biggest enemy. As said the Police were there almost straight away and the extra time getting past its locks could have meant them getting caught.

Being a car enthusiast and being a decent human being are not the same thing.

Criminal scum nonces like fast and classic fords too.

You just have to go to ford fair or other public shows and youll see shit loads of chav scum and stereotypical criminal looking types going around the place. Plus pikeys hanging around the car park.

you sure see some crackers-difference between them and decent folk is that we work hard to buy what we want-they want to steal it from someone, work and reward are alien to certain types

Land Rover was found burnt out shortly after i believe.

Might possibly be worth checking local storage /garages ... if it was 'invisible' within 5mins.. then the thieving bastards must have hidden it in a nearby garage/warehouse close-by.

You aint gonna be able to move that thing outside without it being spotted.

There were over 120,000 views on the Surrey police facebook page, and over 5,000 shares.
