Default Fitted Toyo T1rs now grip randomly breaking away

Hello all
I have a fiesta tdci mk6.5 and I fitted Toyo proxie t1r on the front only as my budgets were down to the cord.

Now the issue I have is which is difficult to explain so bare with me.
The grip level randomly breaks away. What I mean by this is before I fitted these I had no issues now I can turn into a corner then all of a sudden the grip goes to the point in which the car actually goes straight (luckily enough at this point I wasn't actually going that fast) but other times it will go round the corner like I'd expect that level of tyre to perform like.
Another example is: I can drop the clutch at like 30mph and light the front wheels up it's a fiesta for God sake!
It's that bad I can almost corner on full lock at slow speed then other times I will have grip throughout!
It also does it braking in a straight line sometimes I can put the brakes on and it can pull your eyes out n other times it hits the abs before I have really put any pressure to the pedal. It actually scares the hell out of me it's so unpredictable so any help would be appreciated thank you.
Pressures are 30 psi I have changed them and it has little to no effect.
Tracking is slightly out but same as before however surely ithe fault would be consistent?
Tyres scrubbed for 500 or so mile

Nothing really wrong, just a poor performing tyre on cold damp roads. Probably be fine in the dry when it's warmer due to compound and tyre design. Could just be because they're new. Yokohamas perform a bit dodgey in the winter months too.

They are a softer compound tyre and cold and poor road conditions they wont be great but shouldnt be as bad as your saying. add some more miles see if they improve.

I found them to be pretty good, very predictable behaviour.
But they wear fast, ideal in warm dry weather, didn't push them on cold wet days though.
They are a sort of budget tyre really.

I have them on my focus rs and it will spin in 3rd in the wet. They are pretty useless in the wet if your wanting to drive quick. But too be honest I don't drive my car quick any way so don't really notice.
My wife has them on her mk7 fiesta tdci and they are really good in the wet must be a power thing but I haven't had them spin up in her car yet.
Maybe do a wee burn out in the morning get some heat in them.

I work in Mazda and Mitsubishi dealer and all the mazdas are fitted with Toyos as standard. They wear really quick and are rubbish in the wet. Proper grippy in the dry though

Ran T1 R's for a few years and got on well with them overall, sidewall seemed a bit soft. Great in the dry, fairly average to poor in the cold and wet. To be fair I think these are sold as a more Summer tyre.

Cheap tyres, cheap tyre performance, I used them previously and found them grippy in the warm dry weather and useless in the cold, wet, winter etc. Also found the soft sidewalls a bit weird too. I never used them again

Had them on the fiesta st and the Mrs done nothing but complain about it spinning the wheels in the wet and it sliding in the wet. Originally it had Pirelli P Zeros on and it didn't have the issues same once they had been refitted.

Fairly irrelevant those links as they don't review the T1r, which is the tyre in question,
I'll stand by my comment of them being a cracking tyre,
I've 30 years or driving experience behind me having owned most of the modern era RS range so I feel I'm fairly well qualified to know a good tyre.

I also remember your FRST you modified btw

Sorry to be a tyre snob but from my personal experience they are not the greatest tyre. I've always found avons to be best of the rest. I know this doesn't help now.

Try this one http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...xes-t1r-page-4 8th of 11

Never had an FRST so you are very mistaken.

I'll stick with my experience of them feeling good in the warm dry weather only, wearing quickly and rubbish in all other circumstances with soft sidewalls.......much the same as others mention

As for patronising me with your length of driving, ive been driving for 20 years and regularly drive a stock hatch fiesta on track so I know a fair bit about what tyres are good on a fez thanks......each to their own but there is no cheap substitute to a decent tyre IMO

I think the initial patronising came from you pointing out out how excited I'd get by driving a car with 'Decent' tyres on, all I was doing was pointing out that I had driven many cars over the years, and your attempt at belittling my opinion was pretty pathetic.

You're obviously entitled to your opinion as am I, I'll happily continue to use TR1s tyres on my my ZT, with no complaints,

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Had these tyres on my 205gti track car, cossies, evo, impreza and maybe others, never had an issue with them.
All these cars have been to the ring on those tyres also and by far the best performing in the dry anyway apart from the likes of toyo 888 etc but in the wet they are useless too.
In the wet/damp not so good but still good enough, I've never felt the need to drop a gear and floor a fiesta so can't comment there ☺️

Got these on my Capri. As has been said, I Won't even attempt to take it out in the wet, car just wants to spin round.
