£10k would buy mine all day long. For that money I would want a proper minter or a well spec'd car. I agree with jason in that i would value more around £8k

dunno, but going by his other bin add @ 8250, hes after 8k for it.

This one was for sale for 9k on here a few weeks ago and sold, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-SIERR...-/151594329394

the new owner, seems to change the price on ebay daily, its also on BIN for 12k now! , not bad for a reshelled car!

I would say ;

10k budget for a Sapphire you dont have to touch and should be in A1 condition.

Under 10k for a all year round usable car that will swallow cash .... 24/7

Over 10k for a summer use show queen in standard spec

The Aston looks stunning but its what people like that matters. 2 people with £30k to spend, you can guarantee one would love the Aston and one would love the Escort Cosworth. Both would think they have spent their money wisely and both would be happy!

8-9 would get a good useable tidy saph IMO I think it's worth spending more in the first place and get a better base as a cheaper car will only want more spending on sorting out niggles straight away and you've spent the same but one you've spent more time fixing than driving lol

Exactly why I posted it some think paying out 30 k on a old escort even though they love cossies is madness and I bet the aston would cost anymore to run either lol

Agree with above, that white one is a mess. Description isn't much better.

I've been looking for a Saff as well and not too fussy on colour, or what wheel drive, just want a tidy and useable car for nice days and shows. Got a couple in mind but owners are reluctant to sell!

I agree with you and it was supposed to have been resprayed. To me the paint looked very flat and missing jacking point covers etc. No disrespect to the owner but the spelling in the description was really bad.

With good quality cosworth's getting very rare these days with alot of them being broken up etc etc and with numbers falling.Does anyone reckon that LHD versions will command good or strong money now or in coming years?

if its a really good honest car then yes. Its the ones thats had lots of bad welding shit paint and countless bad owners.
I buy on condition not miles or history. Bills from years ago stating its had 30 types of dump valve or 4 sets of springs makes no odds.

The best cosworth by far was the RWD sapph, not the best looking or the dearest or most sort after but still the best.
Don't care for the escort, never interested me nor the 4x4 sapph, owned an RS500 which was very disappointing in standard trim after having a stage 3 sapph.
However because of the numbers made so many good cars have been broken and are still being broken, not as many left now as you'd think, most are scrap, polished turds that are a minefield of problems but still command good money, I'm sure a good one should be found for under 10k though.
Building mine back up from scratch so I know everything is as it should be and as many new parts as I can find, hopefully on the road by summer.
Reckon including buying the car it will have cost me 10k by the time I'm done.

Interesting views, thanks for sharing.

I'd love an escort and that's what ill be going for next as I've already got a saff. As much as I love 3drs, they are commanding big money now, so I'd opt for an escort.

Have you seen how much Escort Cosworths are selling for now? No longer much different to a 3 door price. By the way love your Sapphire, you must have put a lot of time and money into it to get it up to that standard.

Thanks for the positive feedback....time wise it's took me 2.5 to 3 years to do date (took off the road end of summer 2009)

Money wise, I've not spent thousands on it, I started collecting bits before I took it to apart. I'd hate to start another which the prices of parts today.....ebay has been my friend

I would love an escort to. Its one of my dream cars.

It would have to be imperial blue and have the escos 18s on it.

The 35k+ ones don't seem to be selling at all from what I've seen, 16-25k seems to be what they actually go for.

My neighbour has a V8 Aston like in that ebay ad, it spends more time in the garage being fixed than any Cossie I know of

My order best to worst driving.

2wd saff
4wd saff
4wd escos
3dr

3dr with a cage tied into the rear sus would be like a saff.

not as good imo as the saff its due to hatchback design.
Driven a stg 4 with about 380bhp on konis and 18"s.
I like the looks and tbh i would have one if i had the money.

If, and its a big 'if'.............. but if that car ^^ is as described then that seems to be a sensible price. Probably my least favourite colour for a Saph, but realistic money if it isn't a shitter.
