Default Turbo Technics XR3i

Does anyone know much about the turbo technics XR3i? I'm intrigued to know what spec they ran.

Was the metering unit standard or modified?
Did it has a fifth injector of some sort?
What sort of distributor did it have? Etc etc.

Any info will appreciated

No worries dude. From what I've read about them, they were completely standard with a T3 turbo strapped to the engine, an over boost sensor and the pipe work rearranged accordingly. They ran low boost (about 8psi) and the standard xr3i bosch k-jetronic would works fine at that pressure. How true this is I don't know.

Sure the dizzy was different, or at least the advance retard part. My dizzy packed up and I got a 3i one from a scrappy and I seem to recall it detting when coming on boost.

I just had a look online and it looks like the modules were bigger, guess for boost retard.

Not sure mine ran only 8 psi. It was quite quick, certainly faster than an RS Turbo. I don't know if there were any other incarnations of the kit or anything but it my mate worked on Cossies and RS turbos so had the comparisons

You're right about the ignition advance module, some say it's the same as a saab turbo.

I have one of these and it was a mag feature in nov 91 centre pages of fast ford. Tonnes of history and had it 9 years or so. Unfortunatly it's now run on mfi (which I am currently changing to efi ofab. But I'm aware of all the specs of the original engine.
