Default 16v KA?

So the Missus drives an '05 KA with the later rocam engine.
Everywhere I look online suggests the 1.3 only came in 8v, even the rocam.
I had the rocker cover off today and counted 16v.
Had a Google and can't find anywhere that says the later engines are 16v?

Rather confused.

You can make out there's 8 valves on one side of the head in this photo and there's another 8 on the back.

Ignore me. I just whipped the rocker cover off in day light and it was just the pivot point for the rockets throwing me!

Comic. I was about to say there are only 8 lobes on the cams so there could only be 8 valves.

I didn't think there was much you could do to the 1.3 to be honest. 90hp sounds like fun though!
It's already got a sportka gearbox in it which is quite short and very close together.
Once the suspension was sorted (there's lots of funny noises going on) and I have the underside under sealed I was thinking about throwing a sportka engine in.
If the missus gets a new car next year then it's likely that this KA will become a track car for me and the missus. I was thinking about sticking a 1.8D in from a fiesta.

I think the sport Ka.s go well for what they are.
