Vauxhall meriva..
Allrite guys.
I need some advice, my cousin has got a 2005 Opel meriva 1.7 cdti that's got a buggered turbocharger.
Before getting involved with this headache can anyone shed some light on
the ins and outs of the job?
Just by looking at the shitheap i'm guessing it's gonna be a right 'effin pain,
i can't even see the fukkin turbo and i thought changing turbos on Italian cars was involved!
Any ideas or advice most welcome guys
Cheers!

Hey Danny,
Could you elaborate a bit on the job mate? I'm thinking that i'll have to remove the whole front end ,radiators, bumper etc?
Any issues i should know about? i've looked on various Vauxhall and opel sites
but nowt came up.
Cheers!

On my Combo, it looks like a nightmare...
That said, removing the front bumper, crash bar etc is a 30 min job and would massively improve access.
And I'd say access would be far worse on a Meriva, so the more you could remove the better.
And lots of bolts on mine look rusty as fuck...more reason to get good access.
If you'd a ramp, it'd probably be easy to drop engine/box out the bottom for access lol.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
We used to remove the front off the cars when replacing the turbo as access isn't.the best. As said above its only around 30mins to remove the bumper and rad pack.

Iirc with these, seperate te exhaust off the turbo from underneath, remove egr pipe from manifold remove heatshield take off oil feed pipe then take off oil return on block slightly awkward then 3 bolts to undo turbo off manifold.

they look worse to do than they actually are take the bumper and rads etc off which is a piece of piss and then removing the manifold and turbo is fairly straightforward access to the turbo drain to block is about the most awkward part and even that isnt too difficult. get the intercooler cleaned out whilst you are there as if the turbo seals have failed the intercooler will more than likely be full of oil
