Absolutely disgusted with the RAC
my car key for my Vauxhall zafira some how snapped in my pocket so I called upon the RAC. I told them what had happened and they asked a few questions one of the question is the car accessible which I replied yes I'm in the car now and also told them you can gain access to the front of the car no one in front of me if you need to tow the car.
An hour later a flat bed turned up to recover me, but because my wheels were approximately off set by 10 degrees the recover driver insisted in use specialist access equipment two bit of plastic to help the front wheels slide on the road which he didn't need to use if he'd parked closer to my car.
Once my front wheels were on the flatbed he had to use a pulley so that he could drag my car over to one side as my wheels had a slight turn. This has resulted in me having to pay an additional fee of £108 for this service and I was 3 roads from my house about 700meters away.
I called the RAC to express my opinion about the extra cost and they told me to ask there contractor if they would drop the price which I reply I have a membership with you not them I then asked why wouldn't you of sent a spec truck then I wouldn't of need to pay specialist access costs which she didn't have an answer for.
I'm so pissed off with them and will be cancelling my membership

What made me laugh when unloading the car onto my drive way there was no need to shift on the flat bed the car came straight off the trailer onto my drive way.

Dont blame you for being pissed off! If you have breakdown, recovery and home start in your membership it is up to them to get you recovered with no hidden extra cost. It looked like a straight forward job to me ,why did the recovery truck park so far from your car?

What a rip off! Clearly used the 'specialist equipment' to make money off you, can't you just refuse to pay or have you already?
Assume there was no spare key at your house 3 streets away??

don’t know why mate, probably to justify using the plastic skates to shift the car over, which he didn’t need to use if he pulled up closer.

Just spoken to an AA patrol man who lives on my road he said sounds like there pulling a fast one. He said they have the same problems with their contractors and lots of AA customers now request for AA patrol people only. He also said that the system they have on their vans CRT would have done the job

Hi mate deffo sounds like the contractor is trying to take the piss a few years back I wrapped my Fiesta RS Turbo into a taxi when the brakes failed and it was a right mess and had even had a small engine fire and the RAC came out and recovered it no problem even when it had pissed fluid everywhere, was on its tits and required a specialist lift

Genuinely hope you were ok though, sounds a lucky escape.
Ive seen lift firms refuse too put pisssers on the bed, fire risk apparently
Well it dont stop me mate, does it with bangers, dont matter what's leaking out its going on the bed and home be it in flames or not as he's a tight cnut..
He would try and weigh the ashes in just too pull a few pence back too his wallet.
Back to the OP....TELL EM GO FUCK.
then call the cunts out for 500 breakdowns a nite while u sit in pub till you get ya money back.

198 pounds lol fuck that! Last night I did a brake down on a tufnels cf75 fully loaded the clutch pack had gone. Did not have one couldn't get one. It got recovered from Newbury to tufnels in Bristol for un loading then from there on to imperial commercials in Bristol. That only cost 598

Was ok, The fire started because the oil feed on the turbo came off and sprayed oil on the manifold then melted something, was out in about 20 seconds though lol, Car was a riot although looking back I could have probably have fixed it, oh and excuse the 90s paint job lol
Here is the split oil feed
