Thumbs up Which pick-up car should i buy?

Hey guys,

I'm going to buy a pick-up and i meet difficulty to find the best one. I want to buy a stylish and car to go to work and sometimes to go sight-seeing with my family.

A powerful pick-up isn't neccessary for me. From some reviews, i list some of the most suitable cars to buy. They are:
  • Toyota Hilux
  • Ford Ranger
  • Mitsubishi Triton
  • Isuzu D-Max
  • Mazda BT-50
  • Nissan Navara

Which is the best pick-up for me to buy? I love Ford vehicles but my friend tell me that the MPG of Japan-car-maker is better.

Sorry for my bad English. Thanks in advance.

Nissan is good

L200 - tend to be quite thirsty. some engine issues on the early ones. well spec'd- animal/trojan/bull. look good.
Navara - soft underneath & soft engines on the early ones.
Ranger - early ones are ok but pretty basic, even wildtrack/thunders dont tickle my fancy
New style Rangers look great, time will tell on reliability etc
Mazda - basically as early Ranger i think

d40 navara is very car like to drive, i had an early 55 plate and had rear wheel bearing issues, loads of others had engine, clutch, paint and diff problems. i must have got a good one. bought at 6months old with 15k miles, sold 12months later with 28k miles.

Navaras eat clutches for fun.

And the autos have an amazing design for the cooler that it decides to flood the gearbox with water and kill it.

Mates got an L200 and never had an issue with it and it gets abused off road as well.

If you "need" a pickup then something of a reasonable spec will get you by. If it's a lifestyle vehicle then get a specced up one.

I'm in an L200 barbarian and if it wasn't for the toys it would be a shitty place to be on journeys. It's as well specced as any decent car, full leather, climate, auto wipers, dusk sensing lights, dab radio, touch screen sat nav etc... I use it for work but as much for chucking my bikes in.
