MK2 Focus RS or E92 M3?...
Looking at changing my car in the coming months, had my heart set on a mk2 focus RS.
Since seen e92 m3's are also within price range. What'd you rather have given the chance?...

Or

Tricky choice to me...

About 12 mpg iirc, e39 m5 gets about 17-19 mpg average, e60 is far worse on fuel and also has a shitty stupidly small fuel tank as well, just for added annoyance to the already crap mpg figures.
M3 e9X isn't too great on fuel either, you'd be looking at 20mpg if you're only modestly using it, or less.

Fuel economy isn't as bad as everyone makes out. I've seen 24mpg on a steady 80mph motorway run and even 22mpg combined out of a full tank. Realistically though your looking about 17 18mpg normally

Nothing, I'm looking for another house to rent out so could do with the money for that but not essential that it sells.

Ben
The fact people are concerned about MPGs with cars such as these makes me laugh
M3 all the way, there is no comparison.

As much as I don't really like them, Audi RS4 prices are really good. When you compare what you're getting for your money (all be it slightly older) its a FAR better car than a Focus, that's if you want to consider an alternative to an M3.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

I loved the car, only downsides were the gearbox and the fact it would cut the power mid drift if the foot brake was applied. For most people driving style/skills it wouldn't matter. Gearbox was good when flatout and did what you told it up and down the gears. I'd have prefered manual but not available.
I had a few problems, most down to hard use/abuse.
As for fuel, possibly the worst car I've ever owned on fuel. My average mpg over around 10/15k miles was 9.Xmpg, 15mpg on a decent normal run. Usually hovered around 10/11mpg in town driving. A fast run would read 7mpg which is as low as the mpg calculator would so probably worse. So to sum is crap on fuel but to be expected on a car that easily does 200mph.
As for the original question, M3 no brainer. V8 M3 is alot better on fuel than the M5, average 18/20, 24/25mpg on a run. Obviously these figures are alot worse if driven hard everywhere.

I had the touring, recently sold at grassicks perth as an approved used bmw with 2 year warranty, whoever bought it will certainly need it.

You might want to re-read my post, I haven't indicated I own an M5.
But since he has quoted single figure MPG and the M5 is the only M-Car which will do over 200mph, I've stated I think 3FRD is referring to an M5

I had the RS, and my dad has the M3, i loved the Rs, but i wouldnt pay anythign over £10k for another one... whereas i think the M3 is probably worth it jsut for the small things like windows not rattling while driving along...

So you run yours without BMWs speed restrictor? BMW restrict the speed to 155mph but according to them you can have the upgrade to up the top speed to 190 mph so i still wonder how yours easily does 200mph.

pretty obvious its been derestricted so it has no top speed limiter.
Your being sarcastic but you really are making a fool of yourself.
An e60 m5 will indeed do 200mph "easy" when derestricted which is simple to do

sarcasm again. Bmw's figures aren't below what can be achieved. They state 155 limited which is realistically 170ish then they do a performance option in Germany like you say but fully derestricted they do 205mph.
You were sarcastic about them doing 200mph and were wrong and now your trying to back peddle so you don't make more of a bellemd out of yourself
