Just out of interest why do you want to swap? The V88 is a great ECU and is widely supported whereas the AEM isn`t widely supported. Not to say it isn`t a great ECU but it`s more who is mapping it.

Value I`m not sure but I`d be surprised if you didn`t get over a grand for it. I suppose it depends on whose looking!

I`d be really interested but am not quite ready to buy until next year.

hi mate thanks for the reply. The turbo kit ive bought is for a E46 m3, i dont have a wiring loom and dont no who could make one or map it. A.E.M have just released the infinity 8, with the plug and play harness. Also comes with a base map so the car will start and has loads of great features which use the standard sensors.

Phoned MSD earlier and left ans message for james see if they can help

I didn't think there were kits for RHD E46 M3s? Something to do with the steering rack being in the way?

Can you give us some more information?

I think there is now RHD kits (sevspeed) but you lose air con. You really need to be speaking to CA Automotive on 01202 822 792. They've done one at least.

Already got the kit, bought it from a gent in Australia. This kit retains air con but need to relocate the wind screen washer bottle. Just need to put it on the car and find someone to sort management out.

cheers, Rick

If you're really set on using aem then eurospec2000 will be the bods to talk to. I rang them about vipec and they recommended speaking to Mark Shead.

I know this sounds Crazy but the guys from Savspeed flew over to CA Automotive to do final mapping.

Remember reading about that, believe they used the standard ecu aswell. A gent on m3cutters bought the car about a year ago and has had some mega problems with it.

Been in touch with MSD and Mark at M.A.D, both can map the car but can't do a wiring loom for it.

Any ideas where best place for a loom would be?

If you were buying the ECU from MAD I would make the loom as part of the package to suit your car application so not true that he cant just not for non-customer cars.

The problem with selling it is that it's a previous generation ECU, in the sense that Vipec sell the i-series now. Could probably get ~£800 for it I would've thought. Looking at where you are based, try speaking to Will, he's worked with Vipecs and will build a loom for you

Apologies for posting the incorrect info. On the phone I was under the impression he couldn't help with the loom

One thing about good ecu's, is that they will hold their value pretty well, and there is generally a good market for them used.

You wont get new prices, but I dont see at least 60-70% of retail being unusual. Sometimes more, some less depending on how lucky or unlucky you are.

I'm sure if you advertise it in the right places, you'll get a buyer for it.

Or just get someone to make you a patch harness or loom so you can use it ?

Or egay would probably get a decent price, if you're prepared to take egay costs and the risks involved with egay.

How much would a wiring loom cost? Never had one made before, suppose price is different for different applications

No easy answer to that.

And dont see why you'd need a full loom. Someone is bound to be able to make a patch harness ?

The AEM Infinity is supposed to be good, but have heard very little about it.

But I do know the older AEM stuff are complete piles of shit you wouldnt wish on your worst enemy. Even AEM havent a clue how they work.

The FSR place, looks like all they are selling you is a patch harness anyway to make the AEM plug into your existing car loom.

Looks like Apex Speed and Technology sell adaptor harnesses for the Vipec and they use them

Correct even the same car can vary in price depends on number of injectors, coils & wheel sensors etc.
