Default gear selector, transit

Gents;

i dont know much about transits so i thought i'd ask you lot.

mk6 (2005) 2.4 rwd transit (with gear stick through the floor), sometimes struggles to get into gear, in particular 1st gear.

Clutch feels fine, decent biting point & not slipping etc. clutch pedal feels normal, fairly light and doesnt change through travel

now i assume these dont have cables? if not does anyone know of common issues with them trying to select gears or things i can check?

cheers
Matt

No cables the stick goes straight into top of the box,
Seen a few bend the fork on the real ease bearing, usualy makes it hard to engage all gears
When it's hard to get it inti 1st does it feel the same if you switch it off and try it?

the gear stick has two rubber blocks on it and a plastic cup on the end of it where it goes into the box if any of these have wear or are missing they struggle going in gear ten minute job to replace them and only a phillips screwdriver required

this is just going by what my mate said, i had a quick look last night @ 9.30pm so it was dark. checked the obvious things like fluid etc. could get all gears when running and not running, took it up the road and no slip from the clutch.

Clutch master cylinders are common for failing, also clutch pressure plates can go weak and make it difficult to engage gears, even though the pedal feels ok.
