Default Cleaning off wax oil...

Hi guys, I have been cleaning up the front end of my cossie and in the recesses etc there is a yellowy wax oil and all the dirt has stuck to it over the years,
I have cleaned it all off and polished the area and has come up like new.

What I wanted to know is would this wax oil have been originally applied when new or has it been done since? Do people normally reapply it or is it more trouble than it's worth and best to just keep the areas clean.

The area in particular around the headlight was caked in it and was even all over the bottoms of the headlight, is all nice and clean now though. Is it best to just leave it as it is now or is there a product people recommend to reapply

Thanks

I'd recoat the Waxoyl mate - as you can see it did it's job ! Unless you're going to show it and trailer it everywhere, preservation is more important than polishing bits no-one will ever see.
