Thinking of buying a megasquirt ECU for a bit of a project. Have any of you had any experience with this type of ECU. Im especially interested in the smaller Microsquirt kit.
How complex is it to get to grips with and understand.
Setting it up to run a zetec turbo would be the end goal but I thought I would start with something simpler and just try to install it and map it to run the N/A 1.8 zetec to start with, to learn how it works. Have people achieved similar projects or is it a case of 9 times out of ten it ends up being finished off by a pro tuner?

Megasquirt is great if built properly, I had a bad time when first getting mine running, ecu was supplied by one of the main suppliers of the ecu's in the uk, it was wired up wrong, to which the supplier denied. Looks lik I was charged for boost control but it isn't in the ecu. If I was to need another measquirt ecu I would use boost monkeys.

I got my first one from efi extra but if I got another it would be from boostmonkeys
