Default recomend this if yr struggling with emissions

Hello all i posted the other day about my shitroen c5 2.2HDI failing emissions and was told by local motor factors to use https://www.dipetane.com/motorists/nct/ i put half a tank of shell vpower diesel and 1 litre of Dipetane ... and took it for a blast yesterday red line is only 5000rpm so just held it there untill no more smoke... guy rang me today and said emissions past and could not believe the difference and my 2.2hdi has 180000 no DPF and No Cat... ecu been mapped to not see DPF ...

happy as fuck
Andy

As above, an 'Italian tune-up' is generally all thats needed as long as there aren't boost hoses split or another reason for over-fuelling.

Miracle in a can.

As long as you're happy and it's passed.

My mrs old Clio failed miserably on smoke test. They wanted 80 quid to sort it, I just took it out and ragged the fuck out of it. Sailed the test the following day.

I recall doing this a few times on some of the focus tddi taxis before taking them in for their plate tests. It was mainly on cars that had drivers with feather feet. Cars that had been nailed everywhere had no smoke issues but plenty of broken springs

My Mondeo has no EGR, No DPF and no CAT. It has a sage one remap and I only ever use Shell V-Power or BP Ultimate diesel. Once or twice a week with a hot engine I pull it hard through 3rd, 4th and 5th.

Last MOT I had an advisory "Emmisions to low to read"!

I cane the shite out of my mondeo daily, the thing is slow as fook so you need to just to get anywhere. The wife only drives her diesel fart box at about 1500 rpm max, you should see the shite that comes out of it when I floor it!

Bullet proof old lump the 1.8, the 2.0/2.2 DW motors go well but they are French.

And have you seen the ridiculous place they put the oil filter on the later ones?? ...

Inbetween the alternator and inlet manifold behind the oil filler tube, the oil filler tube can be unclipped and moved, however you can't get a very long ratchet in there to undo the 27mm hex cap and need a shallow socket to get in there.

Service items...

Sounds about right, all sounds similar to the kit I work on. Had an engine fire at work yesterday, caused by poor design!
