Why is that £1000 is it because it's 6 digit plate? Seems overpriced to me
It's priced like that because it says GTR, less to do with the number of digits as to the potential market.

For example, if it was V38 NOB I suspect it would be cheaper lol

I've found C6RL B for my name but it's £2800! Bit much for me for a plate But I do like the idea of my name

But I also found C4FL B which is only £399, and the 4 looks very much like an A to me, does that look close enough to CARL B or am I deluded? Lol

Sometimes trying too hard with a registration just makes it look silly too, especially when the cops are so touchy about standard spacings and fonts so their automatic fining people systems can work easier

I'm willing to add 1 small space and close 1 up slightly I've just exaggerated it how I've wrote it here but I will keep font and letter size standard should be OK then.

My main issue as you say is i don't want it to look silly, I wish C4RL B was for sale as even with spaces C4 RL B it's still clearly my name

The BO55 plates look pretty good, better in some ways than attempts to spell things

I really dislike name plates and I know a lot of people feel the same, just seems naff to me as it's everyone else that gets to see it as you drive around. Can't you get CAR 1xx or something? Making names out of numbers and dodgy spacing ruins a good car IMO.

I do however likes good car related plate, but then it has to stay with the car or be sold on to another owner with the same. Plates like M5 or GTR etc look good on their respective car.

If i manage to get C4RLB I'm done, it says my name clearly even with the space C4 RLB

I like the boss plate to because I am a boss of a company and it has my initials. I'd also like a gtr plate so no rush will keep looking for now and trying to hunt down my name in full

Yeah, me too.. Albeit a very small company lol

Not meaning to offend BTW, just offering opinion as you seemed to be asking. I have a car related plate on my Impreza and I've had nothing but good feedback, even from people I used to work with who normally bitch about private plates but there's no denying what it means or messed about spacing etc.

A1 GTR would look smart V6 GTR or similar?

no offense taken bud im looking for opinions im still not sure what I want yet

small company here to only 8 full time employees, and upto 8 freelance come and go operators.

v6 gtr id love but that will be long gone, I can get v38 gtr but overpriced imo at over£1000, I can also get CR08 GTR for £250 my initials are crb so its close enough and cheap enough for now.

I have a lead on C4RLB owner, if they will sell for reasonable money I will buy it, even with the space C4 RLB its still clearly my name.

I ran S6 PRA as S6PRA on my supra and never got pulled once on it aswell.

If you can track down that other plate could you not also try and trace CAR 1B - another option for you if anything and a strategically placed screw would make the 1 look like a L.

Maybe that's trying too hard as I agree with some of what the others have said, when someone tries too hard to make a plate look like it says something it usually looks wank.

that's a good idea another to look out for, hopefully C4RLB will come up for sale but I need a stop gap until that time comes.

I have just found W800 GTR and Y800 GTR, both just £399 all in, my gtr is 850 hp or 960hp race fuel, so im considering now those options.

also Y999 BHP is available for £399 another fitting plate at a good price.

Well I found reg 995 BHP how perfect is that, I've put an offer on it so just gotta wait now, I like it because there's no fudging numbers/letters/spacings around it just says what it says, and it made 928 hp at the hubs so is knocking on for 995 hp crank

I just hope they accept the offer, salesman said it's been up over a year so they should listen to offers if it's still available

How does 995 BHP. Read bud

That's my biggest issue I can't spend proper dough on a plate unless it says what it needs to say no squinting lol

I agree with ya hence I've offered on 995 BHP

the issue is with the previous plate changes the cars had all the paint has been scratched away upto the full size area of a number plate so my 13" long plate is now leaving the 3" each end exposed and looking shit where the paints damaged

I could cover it up with a full length plate but I love the look of the shorter plates so don't really want to.

I will sort it but abit pissed off atm I cant understand why anyone would animal a car like that

That looks much better than some of the full size number plates that were being suggested! Any 5 digit plate looks decent IMO and that's a good one.

Why was the paint damaged?

cheers bud im well chuffed with the plate

the car has had 4 plate changes now lol
where someone has removed a plate previously they've scratched all the paint away when removeing the sticky pads and my plate is 6.5" shorter than standard so its all exposed now

my other option is a carbon number plate surround but il need one that's carbon all where the plate sits as 3.25" each side will be visible

cheers bud, no they've damaged the paint very badly even scraped some plastic away by the looks of it whats a smart repair ?

the cars not pristine and I don't want it pristine its there to be used but it must be tidy, but if you look at the picture above you can clearly see all the markings either side of the number plate that is all damaged paint !

a smart repair is when a mobile paint sprayer comes out and sorts out the scratches/paint issues in the affected area only so its cost effective.

examples:

It's like a local repair, fill in, airbrush, that type of thing.

Some are smarter than others. If you dont need pristine...then a smart repair should be ok lol
As not that many are that great.

It would probably be easier to remove front bumper and have that section done as it would be easier to mask of to the edge I think

These guys do most repairs on the car.

Idea is to be quick and pretty effective which means cheaper.

Problem with a smart repair in winter...is unless they have somewhere good to paint it, the repair will likely be crap.

But they could very easily do a local repair on that bumper, or worst case just paint that middle section again. Shouldnt be too hard either way

Quick Reply: Svm850r r35 gtr v box results in finally got some race fuel out :)
