Default T34 Turbo Watercooling?

Bought myself a T34 Turbo with .48 housing to put on my Zetec Turbo and hoping for around 320 bhp.

Question I have is that the turbo I have as with most has the two holes where the water pipes are connected to it and then tighten them up.

I have heard many people saying that they just block these off, is this safe to do? The car will be warmed up and cooled down before and after each run.

What is the best way to block these, is it a case of buying a specific bolt (What size?) I assume I cant leave them empty as its supposed to be a sealed unit? Or should I get pipes and plumb them in ?

All help appreciated

You don't need to block them off, just don't connect anything to them.
Assuming you are talking about where water pipes would fix on the the core of the turbo.

Yeah thats the one, two thick bolt threads in the centre of the turbo? I take it this part isnt sealed then? Is it a good idea to get bolts for it to blank it off or does it not matter?

Thanks

Why would you won't to not connect it up? A cool turbo will surely last longer than one that gets hot all the time lol

Because the water pipes are notorious for breaking near the turbo then you loose all your coolant
Not needed it you look after your car by warm up and cool down before shut off.
