Default How do you remove window tint?

I recently bought a XR3i mk5 cabriolet and was wondering how do you remove window tint film with/without taking the windows out?

if it was fitted with the windows out then you'll probably need to take them out to find the egdes of the tiniting film. If you can see the edges of the tinting film with the windows in you should just be able to peel it off.. might help it you warm it up with a hair dryer too, just helps loosen the adhesive..

HTH..

Once it's pealed it should come off fairly easy and it shouldn't make to much difference if they were done in or out, just use a Stanley knife blade or similar to get it started and once all off give a good clean with window cleaner.

Pour very hot water from kettle (not boiling) whilst peeling the film off the glass use a Stanley knife or glass scraper to lift the film - should come off in big strips. Any glue left over use tar remover, again really hot water will soften any residue before applying tar remover.

If its sunny where you are over the next day or so, get a black bin bag, spray the window with water (on the inside) and place or tape the bin bag to the inside of the window, leave it in the sun for a couple of hours and it will literally fall off without leaving glue behind.
