Some gent will ask you to pop the hood.
Scenario.
Teen boy racer wannabe 'wow, you gotta Cossie mate, what bhp has it got, has it got a vroom ptssshhh valve, can I see the engine'
James k 'ok young n, here's the engine'
(James pops hood)
Teen boy 'where the fucks the battery man'
Thread still boycotted James, but you know I love G88

Old people are not disgusted, they feel sorry for you driveing around in a 20 year old banger. This is a Ford Forum of course this thread will have positive comments I love mine but all my friends think its an old Sierra. Each marque has its own followers. Was asked to display my car at a Skoda day. The gates opened, crowd converged & walked straight by to spend all day drooling over Skodas in various states of crap . I got the picture shut the bonnet & joined them in the Skoda fest. The vast majority of people are not interested in cars full stop its a means of getting from A to B.

I personally don't think my Cossie turns that many heads, until you go in my Anglia or my dads 32 coupe....cossies look fuck all compared to hot rods with 6+litre v8s etc
Although I'm a cossie fan it's just my opinion

Had a series 2 RS Turbo, that always got people commenting at how nice it was even a middle aged guy with an STI Impreza @ a Shell garage while paying for fuel which i thought was good, now i have a Saph i often get "look Cossie, nice car etc",what makes me laugh is the amount of people who have no idea what power they run standard, speed ect.One lad was trying tell me they should have twin turbos as standard and surprizing how many people claim to have had them even when they dont know first thing about them.Always got time to chat to a genuine enthusiast though.

My s1 got called a cossy by some youths and had a strange guy standing outside my drive, I asked him if I could help him and the reply was no just admiring the escorts as it's lovely so I'd say yes and old ford turns heads

Is this even a serious question.
Im a 21 year old and bought my 3 door Cosworth when i was 20. Truthfully, i love the attention it brings. Everyone appreciates a good Cosworth. Im a fan just as much as im an owner.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Had a crowd of 18 year olds drooling over my 3dr when I had to pop up to my lad's college one day. Every one of them knew exactly what it was and wanted to know more.
Had a guy in a van taking pics of the car while I was in a traffic jam coming back from Bournemouth one day a year or two back.
Coolest thing happened on the way to Ford Fair two years ago. Tootling along in the inside lane at 70 when I noticed an F40 coming up the outside lane at a rate of knots. They guy slowed right down to 70 as he caught up with me, pulled into the middle lane alongside me for a few hundred yards, looked the car over, gave me the thumbs up, then disappeared into the distance.
So I'd say yes, the cars DO still turn heads, especially those who know something about cars
