Default Part Decision Made

I have decided at last to at least get the engine rebuilt

Im still unsure what to do with the 4i though, but at least i will have a engine lol.

The Moan will be doing the rebuild, full L&B, Longstuds, Pocketed Pistons etc etc

Just thought i would let you all know

I just need to remove the engine from the car now and take that along with all my other parts to him.

Sorry Steve but i think your mad to plough ŁŁŁŁ's into a new build, it's your choice at the end of the day but we'll be here in 12 months time going over the fact you still need a 3dr in your life and your 4i needs welding and a repaint and fast Ford still won't refeature the car

I'd have called it a day and waited for the right 3dr that may already have a 200 build in it - some 3dr's going at alright prices you just have to play the waiting game.

No power figure in mind at all.

It will have one of Tonys cams. Thats about the only spec change.

It will be the first engine i have ever had L&Bd

Buy a nice 3dr with the cash... then if that engine pops, sink a few grand into rebuilding it, instead of wanking away money on a new engine for the 4i when you're going to begin to spend money chasing car cancer so that you can keep it on the road.

All that was really worth money in the 4i was the engine, now that's gone tits up, start from scratch with a genuine Cosworth.

Cheers,
Grant

Lots of bits on the 4i that are worth good money apart from the engine

This,Gary at Rs classics always has a few lying about or of course Paul nyrs.
You've got all the bits you need on the 4i,sell the 4i exclusive parts to recoup some cash, scrap the rest etc.

Will make for a nicer car that will always be worth more $$$$ than the 4i.

I totally agree with whats been said , save up and buy a genuine 3door then start modding that one. Then it will seem that more worthy of doing the mods and you wouldn't be stuck not knowing what to do. Youi,ll just keep improving it and dare i say have it for another 10 years and fall in love again

In that case:

4i specific bits will get punted to fund the 3dr purchase.

Cosworth/Sierra parts will get kept to improve the 3dr you purchase.

If i were you i would take a step back & think very carefully whats best.
I believe the last engine wasnt what you wanted so why would the next one be any different. You can get carried away with what you think others want you to do & at the end of it still be unhappy.
Dont plough money into the 4i it will never be a Cossie despite all your efforts to make it seem like one.
You have 20 years to modify any 3dr you buy so dont get carried away with i must have it all now.
Your a great guy & from what i read this is causing you stress, it aint worth it. TAKE A STEP BACK.

I said this in the first thread, but more so by a cheap rotten 4i for the brakes axle flint etc and re sell 4i thus saving all goodies for a 3 door.

i dont see any reason not to keep the 4i people are saying its not worth as much as a 3 door etc... but that doesnt matter one bit if you dont plan on selling it does it!

Imo you don't see many 4i's which makes Steve's a cool car that we all know and love. well some of us.

A 3dr cossie will always be top choice and will always be about. but 4i's are a dying breed and need to be kept on the road. And if it was'nt for the 4i being a test mule for the cossie we might not have the cars that we all love now...

Long live the 4i

4i or 3dr

Not that I will take any notice of the result

I must admit I do miss not being able to drive it
