Looks ok as long as you don't choose anything too tacky. The carbon effect looks ok.

I've just bought all the gear for this,

But we are now going to make custom patterns and be able to put photos etc on there instead of the ones you have to buy, like the pictures above

Think its as durable as 2k paint as once the film is on mose people 2k lacquer it.

its a film that gets placed in water than an adhesive sprayed on it then you dipp the part you want covered. If you search hydro dipping on you tube theres a few vids

is the difference between carbon effect and proper carbon fibre really noticeable? or could a good quality effect be passed off as the real thing?

the carbon effect reminds of something you would find on a shitty gravel rashed gsxr with anodised fasteners/footrests and renthal handlebars. it looks like them shite indicators you find out of that catalogue mps

Speak to Sean from Hydra graphics. He's been hydro dipping for over a year and before that has been polishing alloy parts for years, a true perfectionist you won't be disappointed with his work. Check out his facebook page. I think thats more popular than his website, more interactive anyway.
