Seems weird there would even be enough weight of traffic at that time of evening at this time of year to have so many cars involved.

I got told about 9:30 by a mate who was attending (paramedic) as he got called in for overtime, I assume the accident was about 9pm or so from that.

People drive far too close together. People drive in bad weather without proper lights which can make then very difficult to see.
And these two real dangers are something the police never do anything about.

TBH I'm not surprised - the way people were driving on the M40 tonight was bloody terrible. Why is it that as soon as it's a little bit wet everybody starts braking for no reason, tailgating each other, cutting into your braking space, swerving around on their phones, etc?

It's looking that way now
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "There are reports of between 25 and 30 injuries, 10 are believed to be life changing and it is believed that people have lost their lives."
Thoughts go out to everyone involved and R.I.P those that lost their lives.

just seen this.. its kind of hard to believe how many cars could happen, usually its never more than half a dozen, 2 cars crash, few behind get caught up in the madness, slam into the back of each other, and thats it, but 26 cars? and people being burnt alive.. thats just too much :/
