at what point do you say enough is enouh with cars?
I have been into cars, more importantly rallying for as long as I can remember, but my car has sat in the garage unused now for 3 years, since the kids have been born I have no time for it, nor the love or want to work on it.
Ive put alot of thought into it over the last few months, and the outcome is always the same, no interest.
If I sell it, would i miss it? i dont think so, its been sat there unused for years. Can i see myself wanting to finish it and use it? not really, I would rather be out with the wife and kids.
I think its a done deal.
your thoughts?
regards

cant answer that question as im searching for the answer myself. although it doesnt cost me anything to keep i get the feeling that its pointless owning it. maybe its the fact the amount of cash the car has had spent on it thats stopping me selling.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
My problem is i have too many projects on the go, i have 3 cars and around 10 motorbikes, and renovating a house
I just dont have the time to devote to them, but i have them and they are all paid for and i will get them done one day.
Dont sell it Mark if you dont need to

I just cant help but thinking i dont really need it anymore, maybe times have changed for me.
Im thinking my life just doesnt have space for projects, I dont even want to make time anymore for it.
Im enjoying renovating my house more than anything ive done with this car.

The mechanic from next door pops in to work to borrow stuff off me and he says you got your cossy done yet.
He cannot understand why i dont work on it and i have to think back 10+ years ago i would have been different and when i came across customers with cars and bikes stored away i thought they were nuts and no way would i have a car/bike like that and not use it.
But other things take priority in your life, but u will get back to it one day.

There just aint enough time for kids, work, cars and classic rock!
I have had to give up the headbanging thrash metal mania, sold my amp but just can't let go of my (6) favourite guitars!
Don't really get time for the cars either so really know how you feel, anyroad, you can always buy another car to twat about with if you feel the urge.
Good luck with the sale.

I think I'd hang on to it if you can afford to. If you get the love back, you've then gotta start all over again!
But, as you mentioned, you could sell it and buy a complete, running car of some kind. If you bought an Evo, perhaps you could then just use it, do a few rallies and enjoy it, rather than having to wait for the Escort to be done.
Alternatively, again, if you can budget for it, what about shelving the Escort for a bit, and buying something cheap (a 205 or similar), and doing a couple of events. Getting out on the stages again might bring the love back and motivate you to get stuck into the Escort.
Think very carefully on selling it. I've sold projects before and later come to regret it, and ended up buying basically all the same stuff again!
