Default My golf TDI finally at 300hp plus :)

Well after a lot hard work and money I finally have a 300hp TDI.

As some know my previous set up with stock engine was around 265hp (done 13.9 @ 102mph).

With a big valve ported head, cam and some clever mapping I hit 304hp and 530NM. The poor R783's were pushed hard to make this power, but my plan is to upgrade these

Obviously the smoke level was not great, but this hopefully will improve with bigger nozzles or modified PDE's.

Rolling road result:

Note I was trying different maps so thats why I have three different runs:

I have footage but needs editing.

Does this make me first to hit 300hp in the UK (TDI)?

BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO....well you know who you are

Cheers

Bobby

Haha, good work!
Is it any better on fuel now though, compared to a 300hp turbo petrol? Just out of interest.

When on the motorway you dont use 300hp all the time so its still very good on mpg 480 to the tank.

silly question but have you fitted a modified clutch. I know a lad who got his golf chipped then a few weeks later the clutch started to slip cause of the torque

Clutch has slipped but its not rated at 530nm so no shock there...
Clutch only slips if the power comes in all at once - a progressive map is much better for clutch, traction etc etc

pd130s have been taken to over 300 on standard bottom ends, bobby singh do you know of a black mk4 gt tdi with red bbs ch reps on any forums at all? its a local lad called pab whos made 257bhp on a jabbasport hybrid( expensive and shite imo) differnt nozzles, remap by a local place, fmic, different manifold, straight pipe and decat obviously, pd160 intake and a few other bits, goes really well and is still a completely standard pd130 base

Hi mate if im honest in the vw world theres alot of bs power figures. For eg a vnt 17 based hybrid makes a max of around 220hp and thats with stock nozzles working overtime and 2 bar boost.
Have you links to the 300hp pd 130's?

so with the scoob being permanent 4x4 & heavier an the bora being 2wd around the 200hp & with loads more torque then yes ..

He used the word anialate.Ive been in plenty of chipped golfs, passats and none could anialate a healthy wrx.
My mate had a chipped fabia vrs that was quicker than golfs and it couldnt keep up wae another mates 52 plate stock wrx.

that graph shows what a horrible narrow power band tdi's have, no pleasure to be had revving one of those old tractors - however when you look at the fuel guage/ mpg then it all makes sense!

I certainly didnt say it would anialate it, it would be close but imo the bora would have the edge when rolling if we are talking 0-60 then the scooby will win the bora will just spin there not great at getting the traction down in the 1st two gears with the extra torque...

Its good that you've reached the 300bhp level Bobby... think the BM boys will have got there a while ago with the 6-cyl TD engines they've got, but I've not seen any other <2.0 TDi engines making that sort of power before.

...and its alright guys, Momo's racing chat is a little far fetched... his Stage 3 Sapphire Cosworth killed 'one of the newer Lambos' too apparently.
