Default Epic Build Threads

I often get bored and find myself stumbling on threads from all over the place that just blow my mind, be it with big money builds or just someone in a garage doing on their own.

Thought i might try and keep this upto date as and when i find them and maybe you lot might get some enjoyment out of it also..

So lets start with a couple..

The fab work on this is just amazing, great skills for someone who works for intel!

Sunbeam Minx with a honda s2000 engine+more

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=332026

Mk VW Golf mid engine race car

Sure most will have seen this before but being 21 when he started is just insane,he appears to have the skills of someone double that age!

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...ar-build/page1

Something a bit different now as it's mainly a custom interior build but still for someone who just "taught themselves" it's off the scale..

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...+pair+of+cobra

That should give you some reading for now.

Just looked at the minx ! soem work gone into that !

2 things though, one being the modded manifold with do it no favours as the design is cruicial to the engine working properly, and I'm not sure I'm digging the way he rewelded the track rod arms back together, I'd rather see them sleeved but I'm not pro welder !

Mental amount of work gone into it though, impressive stuff

This has happened to me untold times, infact it's almost a nightly thing.

I dont limit to a single genre or make or scene per se, for instance this is awesome

Jetta going low low low!

Just had a flick throught the BMW thread, very cool! Talk about obsessive though, buying a brand new rear screen from BMW, just because he didn't like the curves in the heating element strips!

Wow,some good finds there,I've literally just started on the mk2 golf thread, what a talented guy!!

Regarding the age thing I think a lot of it's down to how much encouragement/assistance you get with this type of thing.a lot of the best mechanics I know started by learning from their parents/grandparents/neighbours and by the time their old enough to drive, they could take the thing apart and put it back together.

I remember asking my old man when I was 15 if I could buy a cheap car and get it ready for my 17th birthday/when I passed my test and he just fucking laughed at me,it wasn't like I was asking him to pay for it,just use of our empty garage.

My boys 15 now but not massively into cars yet were already planning for him passing his test and I've got a little blue 04 Ka for him, doesn't owe me much money and I might even knock about in it myself for a year first to check all is well. We bought it paintstrippered and as a non runner so it was cheap but I've done the work and moted it now,the insurance will be double what it owes me!!!

Thanks for that lol, a couple of hours lost there

Do love these sort of threads though so thanks for posting!

I'm just glad the update on the iPad has got rid of it's annoying limited size cache for the Internet browser. Not once has my iPad dumped back to the home screen in nearly 3 hours of looking at those threads and hundreds of pictures (would do it on nearly every page of lots of pics before the update)

Thought the BMW started so well. Then the big thick fake looking rollcage and several tons of speakers ruined it.

i love crazy builds, still at the dreaming stage but always thought something that looks as good as the jwrc mk6 fiesta's or ken block style mk7 but that goes and sounds like a group B audi quattro would be the ultimate for me.

any links to crazy engine builds?

Some awsome builds there with alot of time put into them

Do these people actually have jobs / homelife / family / wife etc?

I dont know how people get the time to put into them to this level of detail
