yeah, most big power FWD's do.
He has had higher terminals int he Astra (118ish IIRC) but they where slower runs.

Sigh, I really like PF, there are some great people and good advice and then there are people that have to diss others, and create shit.

The guy is trying to sell his car, if you think its a bit over priced, surely don't buy it. The Orion is a good car, its relation to the escort is like 3 door to Saph. If anything its a little better trimmed and in my opinion feels better balance than my xr3's ever did.

I'm pleased he has been able to put down the times. I'm not sure i'd want to do 165 in any of my onions and fair play the speedo does under read. I'm not certain it would reach there and if it does I bet its a right handful! I've taken one on a private road to a verified 100mph and that was enough for me!

On the 12.7 run I ran 2.1 60ft yesterday in Mattys Orion reckon there's more to come out of it, the track hadn't been glued allday did a second gear burn out seamed to help alot

+1 - To be honest I prefer the old orions these days for the following reasons:

a) The only ones left on the road are usually well kept examples and haven't been round half of Essex (like a lot of Escort's have..... )
b) The orion is shaped more like a mk2 Scort than a mk3 scort is. Dont know why ford turned the escort into a 'hatch'....
c) Everyones got/had an escort. (I've had four - and a van!) Stop being a sheep and try something different... The 1.6 ghia onion of mine is the most comfortably trimmed ride out of all of them. All it needs now is the engine to blow up so i have the excuse to fit something fruity into it.
d) I get a lot more people complimenting the car at petrol stations/car parks than i ever did with any of my escorts.

May as well call this site passionRS, passionspeed or passionBMW or something... cause it certainly aint about ford enthusiasts anymore... lol

Good luck with the sale bud, ignore the 'haterz' lol - Andy's white orion (E979 HWC) fetched that much. If it's as clean/fast as you say it is, then it'll go.

Very nice looking Orion, there are a couple of things I would and wouldn't do to it but over all a very nice car. Well done on your 1/4 mile results definately worth it's weight there. As already said I sold my old Orion for your asking price and it couldn't produce the performance figures yours does. In fact the guy that bought mine had spent a year looking at various RST's, he decided he wanted mine before he had even driven it and did so because he couldn't find an RST that could come close.

Always nice to pinch a sale from the RS boys for "the worst car Ford produced" says alot doesn't it

The very best of luck with the sale, although if you want my advice you should keep the car carry on tinkering with it and continue to produce the results you do to shut the haters up

IMHO the Orion was always marketed as a posh escort and seemed to be a lot better put together,iirc they were a bit more pricey than the escort as well?always wanted a 1.6i ghia back in the day but could never afford one and by the time I could they were Rs turbo money.two of my mates had rst orions about 10 years ago,both nice cars but long gone now.
