The pump will only run when the car is being started or running.
It may pulse on for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. Where are you measuring the voltages from ? (Where are you putting meter leads) |

the thing is the pump isnt even making a noise even when i try 2 start it :s
im putting meter on the leads at the fuel pump itself and then getting a reading from the relay area but the meter is telling me that the positive and negative are both negatives when the cars ignitions is on??? |

You wont get a positive at the pump until it needs to run.
Is the fuel pump fuse ok ? The relay should "click" when you try to start the car although it may be hard to hear it ! If the relay doesnt activate then there could be problems withteh distributor sensor and/or power to the silver ecu as teh relay gets the output of this sensor in order to drive the fuel pump relay. You can check the power to the dizzy sesnor by putting a meter accorss the 2 outer pins on the connect. You should see 12 volts with the ignition on. |
