Are you using a pressure bleeder it'll make life alot easier you can do it without but your timing has to be spot on and is a bit long winded, halfords have them worth there money for jobs like this

Had the same trouble with my ferrari when i replaced the clutch.

Halfords pressure bleeder will do the job in no time just make sure u put a load of fluid through to make sure there is no air left in the system

modern technology lol. What i do when i change clutches on modern cars is i fill the slave cylinder with brake fluid then normaly the pedal is ok. Try getting an old oil can. (The ones where you use your thumb to get the oil to come out) put it on the bleed nipple and fill the oil can full of brake fluid and pump the fluid into the nipple. I hope you havent nackered the master cylinder.

can be a bit of a pain to bleed but if you get a mate operating the bleed nipple you shouldnt be too bad just the first lots of air can be bad to get out because the pedal will keep staying on the floor. i myself have stopped using pressure bleeders on clutches as ive once had a slave cylinder pop and had to take box out again! probably not the bleeders fault but i cant risk it with how busy i am!

Get the pressure bleeder kit that runs off a spare tyre, then you can do it at low pressure

Isn't the recommended way to do these via reverse bleeding, as in pump the fluid through the bleed nipple up to the reservoir?

May be an idea to make sure the bleed nipple is at the highest point, some slaves have it on the side and the air goes up to the top of the cylinder and sits there.. all the messing about does nothing. You need to unbolt it and get someone to hold it so the nipple is the highest point of the slave (usually requires turning it on its side) amd any air should make its way to the high spot.

Thats what i mean and im on about. We do this at work. Ive done clutches twice on ford connects and ive filled the slave cylinder with fluid before ive put the box back in. Ive never had to bleed the clutch either.

Hi, I'm having difficulty getting a mk 5 fiesta to bleed. I'm using a vacuum bleeder but it seems all i've done is suck all the fluid out! And yes, the master cylinder is full.

What the hell am i doing wrong? Pumping or sucking, we can't get any fluid to come through.

Any ideas guys?
