Default Saff Central Locking Problem

Does anyone know what causes the central locking to 'cycle' when you try to lock the car??

it just unlocks itself, then tries to lock again, and so on

i've checked there is no locks siezed up and it all seems fine??

had a similar problem on a mk4 escort years ago but i can't remember what caused it

anyone got any ideas?

is it 2 or 4wd?

if it's 2wd then i'd grease the locking bars first to see if this stops the problem

if it's 4wd then it's more likely to be the motors

either way, try disconnecting the fronts side by side first to see which one is causing the probelm
