Default MK5 Fiesta Zetec-s overheating

hi guys i just bought a fiesta zetec-s which is overheating, it does about 15mile or so then it starts to gradually go slowly into the red, sometimes it will go to 3qtrs and sit there. It also makes like a funny gurgling noise from the water after i turn it off aswell as if theres air in the system if there is how do i bleed it?

I am also having a problem with the heaters aswell there not working at all, is there any relays. fuses, etc to check?

Thanks guys

could be an air lock but to be honest sounds like a head gasket mate, is there gunge in your water or creamy oil on the filler cap/dipstick?

that explains the heating its quite a common prob but the overheating an gurgling sounds like HG failure to me, could also be the waterpump i spose

The HCV going also causes them to overheat, temp needle will be quite erratic and it would get very hot with the coolant bubbling.

Mine overheated twice along with the heaters being stuck on hot the whole time and a new HCV was the answer

Its always the first port of call when they overheat, very common problem that crops up nearly everyday over on ZSOC. Of course sometimes it could be the thermostat etc. but 95% of the time its the HCV, nice and cheap to sort aswell!

Definetly, you will need a HCV to sort the heaters anyway so if it stops the overheating aswell then its a bonus, I can almost gaurantee it will

Mine had a new hcv a few months back but yesterday got very hot, needle ended up right at the top and the fans didnt come on. Stunk of hot water outside the car to when obviously i turned it off after realising the fan wasnt gonna work. Yet my heating is nice and warm, mind u its takes a while to go cold when i turn it back down.

Any ideas what my problem could be?

Is the fiesta red by any chance and lightly modded and lowered?
A friend of a friend of a friend of a friend asked me to look at a fiesta several weeks ago with the very same problem your having.
Apparently they ended up just selling the car before I looked the fault.
Just seems a bit of a co incidence 2 of the same make of cars from the same area with the same faults at the same time thats all, lol.
