I drive a fair few miles and dont want to be cained on the ol' petrol.

I get around 300 to 350 miles from a tank. Drive very easy and you can scrape 400 miles from a tank.

I've got a mk2 ST24 (same running gear).

I haven't worked out exactly what the mpg is but on a run it's not too bad I did alot of motorway driving the other month and I got about 350 to a tank , which considering the way I drive isn't bad! Around town though they can be quite juicy.

driving normally i used to get 28-29mpg....best i could get was an average of 42mph driving 100miles, but that was watching the mpg meter VERY carefully and rolling down any hill no matter how steep

Around town driving normally it's going to be in the low 20s. If you want to get better mpg then drive like a granny, but that defeats the purpose of getting a V6!

I got shot of my V6 Mk2 as the performance didn't justify the mpg. My TDCi is quicker (not 0-60, but in the real world) and is twice as frugal.

Oh, and the in-car mpg meters are always optimistic, so an indicated 30 is nearer to 25!
