I think the Fiesta ST is a very finely balanced car, i.e. start making big changes to it and you'll upset the way it handles and in turn lose your love for it.
IMO the only thing I think you should do is change the airbox over to an induction kit such as CHAV&N, lower it on Eibachs 30/35mm (if you really must) and lastly fix some axle spacers on the rears as apparently that will increase stability under braking from high speed. (Although when I did mine it felt as if it made it more skitty) I think if you pour money into it for a 190 kit you just shouldn't as there are better cars out there for that money you'd invest in the fiesta and then never see back. Just my two cents worth. Tim |

Then maybe look at with a mk3 mondeo 300mm set up or Fiat Coupe Brembos (Pretty much same caliper as the Focus RS Brembos but cheaper due to no RS tax lol)

For springs, stick some Eibachs on it, they are ford approved too so won't affect any warranty that you may have on the car. Got a set for my focus st, banging them on tomorrow

So out of the 3 companys, Jamsport, Mountune and Pumaspeed, is there really much difference? Surely more is better? 190 pumaspeed kit? Cheers for the replies!

The Eibach springs are ok, a bit crashy, but for the money, you can't complain. I have some Bilstein B12s on mine and can't praise them enough tbh.
As for tuner, I guess I'm slightly bias but I'm gonna say JamSport You wont get 190bhp from that kit either. I've not seen anyone get any where near that without a custom map from Jamsport done on the rollers. Even then you'll be looking at about 185bhp

Yeah I believe it's a 190ps kit, and the kit also comes with a generic map. To be honest, near 190ps for the cash sounds good to me.

for suspension, springs will help but if you do go for shocks aswell then the Bilstien B12 kit is the best for the money, avoid coilovers unless your spending big money!
we do loads of ST150's, most go for a custom remap as its not a lot dearer, plus we tune them on a dyno so you can see your gains.

This is all coming from personal experience of owning / driving said combo's etc.
Eibachs are okay, and are a cheap fix - but (the approved ones) are actually diesel springs and as a consequence the front always feels quite crashy - the poundage is too high. Coilovers are a smart move if you want to get the lower stance / improved performance... but if you don't want to lose your teeth > Mountune KW coilovers - best of both and won't lose your manufacturers warranty... or if you've got deeper pockets the Bilstein's as Guzzler mentioned are a very nice bit of kit as well. On the power front, don't go for the biggest number you see, anyone can call a kit anything they like, but as has been proven, nobody has got 190PS... or near it, from that kit... Mountune 185 would be a much better kit option - you'll always get what you pay for, it's the most rounded 'kit' out there as it's all been engineered together properly, and again, you wouldn't lose any warranty you had remaining. Just my tuppence worth on the suspension
Rear spacers dont improve the handling IMO and just changing springs is a total waste of time, you need dampers to match! The bilstein units are a good option for a car used on the road

Thanks for the continued input guys. Have to admit, I did overlook the Mountune kit. Will have to look further into that. Is there a detailed list of what the kit consists of anywhere?

Don't go off the quoted power figures! Look at the actual mods you get for the money. Speak to the companies, and see who offers what you think is the best level of service.
I've not driven the others much, but can confirm that the Mountune kit is fantastic, as I've done over 10K miles and it still makes me smile when I get in it. If you uprate the cams it's sensible to fit uprated valve springs (not all tuners do this), and while Eibachs will be fine, you really won't go wrong with a set of Bilsteins, they're fantastic. The spacers definitely help too. Finally, if you're given an exhaust option, definitely don't go for a loud one. A boomy exhaust and the short gearing will make journeys unbearable. |

similar to the 190 pack you like,,,,
we normally use the milltek exhaust, k&n or pipercross filter, 200 spec cams and a generic remap, supplied, fitted & mapped price is £1695.

Thanks for the info Guzzler, I'll be looking into this more in the coming weeks. Is that kit you mentioned available on your website? I'm currently using my iPhone so I'm struggling a little!

its not on the site at the moment, we have been trying to revise the kits and pricing, sometimes its a bit of a pain as most cars already have some of the stuff fitted, we work out a deal where we can though.

Mountune are doing the 185 kits supplied and fitted at their premises in Essex for £1999 inc VAT in case that helps you. That includes a sports cat in the exhaust (watch out - a lot of quoted prices and kits are based on a de-cat) and also new uprated valve springs and retainers.

At the mo I'm looking more towards the Mountune kit. Just gotta save up a few more pennies! Would it be considered insane to go for the "power upgrade" before going for "handling"? I love the idea of the Bilsteins, but at 700ish quid that's a fair wack! I better start doing more overtime!!
