Hmm one side of me wants to go fezzy Mk6, other wants to go retro Mk2. I'm guessing a rolling Mk2 is one hell of a lot lighter than rolling Mk6? Although space framig etc can probably get them into similar regions.

Regards RS box, eactly my thoughts, cable shift and hydra clutch=easy peasy (weve built an MEV Sonic that uses that setup

Definately mid-engined after playing with Chips Nova on the rollers though!

Needs to be modern and accessable IMO not something so wild the man on the street doesnt associate it with a car he could buy/tune

How about a new shaped Mondeo with a really nice supercharged or turbocharged engine

Or a nice supercharged mk7 fiesta

If you wanna get noticed I'd say mid engine rwd,
then it depends on what sort of bussiness your after, if new modern engines is your thing then go for a supercharged duratec. If your aiming for old skool then yb it or in the middle, zetec.
But I'd say there was a lot less competition for the duratec, work wise.
You need something people will remember you for.
Shell wise that's personal choice but I'd say a new shell, fiesta will get more notice cos it's not been done yet.

Agreed that a new shell is the way to look serious as its a business project.

People tend to be more impressed by the newer stuff generally.

i went down that route, when the mk1 focus rs come out i got a quote on a new shell, we did think about getting the wings and quarters but they never look right welded on, anyway ford quote 900quid same price as standard shell so we ordered one took 3 months, come with a invoice for Ł5,500 rahaha,

when we got the logbook and informed the dvla of the new shell etc we sent the invoice off with the application, it come back on the logbook as a focus rs ford wasnt impressed

What's it going to be for...

Hillclimb -
1) Promote company?
2) Competitive?
3) Bit of fun?

1) New, nothing tried and tested.
2) Gotta have or it's motor at least.
3)

Pretty sure most engines would be able to hide in the back of there, still room for another under the bonnet too

thats how much we used to pay fella 900quid for a standard focus shell, because it was focus rs shell the price was 5,500.

if you want me to get a price on the current fiesta shell i can?, got quite a few contacts at fords, used to be a very heavy buyer of shells not so much at the mo

Not much use for a hill climb car but you mentioned a bit of comedy with the mk2 escort. How about a Fusion with a Duratec (supercharged, turbo'd, w/e) with the standard interior, tartan blanket, you in a flat cap etc...

One of my customers have done this in their rally MK2, the engine is tiny, its extremely light and is producing execess of 230bhp

rally cross cover all the focus fiesta ka big power fibre glass car's. Seen rear engine mk 2's scooby and bike powered. Hillclimb pumas exist. Only thing i can think off 2 be unique is a cossy powered 4x4 cougar. space framed fibre glass carbon fibre ect. That's prob been done sumwhere. Lol

yep, peripheral port the bugger and run 300bhp at 10,000rpm would be awesome to hear!

My project idea that I have had for ages but never got time/place to do it.

Pick a car(I would go Mk1 or 2 Golf I think):

Two(or more I suppose) motorbike engines(again to be different I wanted V-twins) running a single rear diff. 300ish bhp, rwd, 6 speed sequential shift.

Then add in a massive turbo being fed by both engines, or in your case I see you are a Rotrex fan(as am I) so you could run a couple of chargers on them. Would think 600bhp would be withing reach.

I don't think I have seen that done before in a little standard looking vehicle. I think I could almost fit 3 V-Twin engines across the rear of a car, would be silly noise and power I think.

Hi matt I came down to see you last sat with my s2 to see if we could sort the fueling out, get your little mk2 fiesta and go group b style, rs200 engine/ drivetrain probably rare as hens teeth unless you know the rite people, and compound charge it like the lancia delta s4 ha ha these cars were proven to be super fast so if it works for them it must be good

oh yeah love to see new s2000 kitted fiesta built with a twist...
How about that?
