sounds dodgey to me. I would make sure vid wheels fits cause im sure its a fiat stud pattern which is different from fords. Cause the ford ka is just a fiat 500.

im almost sure it should be a 14 inch spacesaver wheel as we had this problem last week.a customer bought a new ka and wanted a spare wheel so sales at another branch ordered a standard 14 inch wheel which sat very proud of the boot floor and was rattling around.
im sure it should be a spacesaver wheel

Yeah i think so too, i have just went out and checked and its seems they have ordered a 14" steel wheel and as you say the boot carpet etc doesnt fit
They have done thing probably because of the price for the space saver and the tire but thats not my problem, as i said tho my mum would have waited for a new car from factory if he said it had to come from factory so its down to sales to get the right parts ordered. They basically threw the stuff into the boot, There isnt even a wheel brace FFS so whats hse suppose to do if she gets a puncture. Most people wouldnt have bothered checking and just drove on until they needed it and then it would be a hassle ![]() Salesman today tried to tell me you cant get a storage compartment for it. I said whats your email address and sent him this:-

As standard the Ka comes with the Tyre Mobility Kit (an aerosol of tyre sealant to you and me) but a mini spare wheel is available as a factory option at £30.65.
Just because a part is available from the factory it doesn't necessarily mean that it is available as a dealer-fit option in a particular country or anywhere at all for that matter. For example, cars that are to get a spare wheel might get a bracket to bolt to, while other cars don't (I don't know if that's the case here, it's only an example) If your mum took the car as specced from the factory and got the standard spec, I don't think it is fair to moan about the dealer or especially Ford not being able to supply the bits from stock. If the dealer undertook to supply the bits and now can't, that is a different story |

Hi. I too am after a spare for a new KA. Fords got me a wheel, I have no idea if it was a regualr sized one or not, I never picked it up. Had to have a refund. The trouble was, NOONE can get a tyre. Not Ford, Kwikfit, or any independent retailer. Ford advised that the tyre size was 135/80R14 - Fair enough, made by Pirelli. There are none in the country, with no date for fresh stock. If anyone's got any ideas on what'll fit, i'll be grateful.
Tks. |

The salesman said no no ill get it all sorted when we get the car overe here in N.Ireland so the deal was done. So the car came with wrong wheel etc. So i got the part numbers etc cause to be fair it wasnt the salesmans fault, the parts guy had told him the wrong information. When i showed him the correct part numbers etc he said no problem ill get it all ordered for you and it is all due in on monday ![]() I know what you mean tho if you take a standard spec car and then complain about its not fair. But the deal was fully agreeded with the 14" mini spare wheel. |

Finally, some success! I went to the breakers yard, and looked at space saver spares. The first one I chose (it had an unused tyre) fitted! The wheel bolt holes were 7cm apart, and the holes for the locating pins were exact. It was labelled as coming from a Fiat Brava. I tested the fit & it was perfect. Cost £23.50 Inc VAT!
![]() Just as an aside, What is the screw driver included for? seems to have a flat blade end & a Torx end? Ta! Last edited by Dolphin Boy; 05-08-2010 at 09:14 AM. |
