Think its crap blades mostly, i spent about £15-20 on my last set as opposed to £5-10 which you can get, and mine are silent, only time they judder slightly or make a sound is when i accidently wipe a dry screen.
Also last week i used super resin polish on the inside of the windows, and it works fantastic, the glass looks so clean and feels very smooth not tried on the outside though? would it not make the screen go weird when it rains?

Don't forget to wipe the actual blade itself. Vinegar is very good for this as a quick fix. i.e. throw abit on some kitchen towel and wipe over until glossy.

Get some rain-x. Its brilliant stuff and your wipers should then be silky smooth. Re-apply every time you clean the car and job done.

I used to polish my windscreen, but when it started raining it smeared and I could hardly see out the screen till it wiped the polish off.
Your window is dirty as said above. Use some good cleaning stuff (Like Mcguires, not fairy liquid ) and you should be ok. Make sure you use screen wash also, not just water You may wanna replace these blades tho...Cheap ones always caused me problems. On the Skoda I changed blades 4 times in a year and they were still shit, even different makes. but I brought genuine VW Aero Blades (Inc wiper arms from a Mk4 Golf) and I haven't changed blades in over a year ![]() My Esc Cos has genuine Ford ones Wish I could change these to aero blade ones also (genuine ones, not the modified ones to fit any car)

If I'm honest the car needs a damn good clean so I will go and get some autoglym window cleaner because it does a great job. The windows are filthy inside and out and the car needs a good going over now the snow has gone.
I don't know how old the blades are of if they are genuine ones, the car is just over 3 years old now.

Newspaper is the best stuff to clean your screen with, wet obviously, that's what I use.
It's the angle of the blade that causes juddering, they need to always trail the arm, ie when the blades goes one way it leaves the blade in a trailing fashion, when it has done the full sweep and is about to go the other way the arm reversing causes the blade to flip over, just watch closely and you'll see. As the rubber gets old and hard it no longer wants to flip over as it should, so gets pushed instead of pulled by the arm, this will always cause juddering, sometimes the arm just needs a slight tweak so that the blade sits at 90 degrees to the screen so it can flip each way as needed no problem. tabetha |

ive got aeroblades on the scoobie, i dont get any squeel but the screen aint "clean" as in when theres lights on the screen you can see dirt marks,,,, and i cant get rid of em with glass polish,,,, anyone recomend as the other alternative is my windscreen cover and pay the excess ( which i will be doing soon as it pisses me off the marks)
when its dark and light rain or just dark on motorways sometimes its a struggle to see infront,,,, im having to slow down to as low as 100mph sometimes crawl at 90 !!! |

your thinking of the other stuff, rainx is for letting rain flow quicker,,,, but the wipers clean it off the screen and can cause smudging

Hi all. Late reply but i was looking for a cure for a juddering rear blade. It's been a pain in the backside (sorry for the pun)for years but after reading through some forums i came to the conclusion that its the angle of the blade. I've just given mine a twist with a rag and pliers and the blade runs lovely even when the window is bone dry. Nice 1! Thanks tabetha
