Another Corsa Q. Amber light car with spanner

She thought it was a service light so I nipped down to rest it for her only to find this on and not the service light. As far as I can gather this means something electrical has failed. Is there a sequence to get a code off as to what's died or will she need to take it in and have it plugged in to a posh machine?

For a 53 plate car it has a few issues to say the least

Put ur foot on the brake and put ur foot on the gas all the way down, then turn ignition on but dont start, wait for the car with the spanner in the middle to start flashing and where the mileage is u should get a fault code come up. Search the fault code in google and it should give you an idea

Changes are it will go off as randomly as it came on, my van is always a suprise to see which lights will be on.

its defo not a service light there is a fault on the engine. Is it a petrol or a diesel. If its a diesel it could be the egr valve stuck.

Petrol although when I started it for her it did sound like a bag of spanners. Will try th ebreak thing and see what it comes up with. Cheers

With the issues we've had with our Corsas at work and now this one I would rather drive a fucking Prius than one of these. It's only got 40k on the clocks as well. No wonder she's looking at Mini Cooper S's and Mazda MX5s to replace it with

OMG at reading this, lass has a corsa 1.2 not the twinport one, 4 cylinder, with cam chain, done 45 tho, and its 52 plate. It needs scrapping. Anyone No the Code p1405?????????

Headgasket gone 2 times, but now i have leant theres a side gasket to aaarrrggghhhh.

Recirculates exhaust gasses.

have a play around with the ecu connectors for the fan relay code bud!might well be a faulty ecu or a loose connection in the plug to the ecu

I ducked down yesterday and had a butchers. Think it may be the fan itself that's dead as it's very difficult to turn by hand. I need to find my multimeter so I can check what's going on.

my mate works for vauxhall and everytime im in there are corsas with the head off them he had one in a couple of weeks ago that had dropped a valve and had done less than 500 miles
